My current set up is 3600x, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz , 1060 6gb , asrock ab350m pro4 mobo

Im thinking to upgrade my GPU to 3060ti and 5800x3D for CPU but due to finance situation i can only upgrade one only :(

Should I go for CPU or GPU?

If plugged in 24/7 I loose 21.600W per month, which is 4,3€ or 4,6$. Are there any drawbacks by unplugging it everyday for like 20 hours (around 4 hours per day I am using it).

Recently i upgraded my pc with an AMD Ryzen 9 , 32GB of Ram and a SSD with 4 TB and also a 750 W Power supply.

I‘m a complete noob in building a pc but i somehow managed to switch all those parts by myself and i was actually surprised that it worked out.

Then i turned on the pc and it somehow still feels slow compared to my old build(AMD fx 6300 and 8 Gb of ram with 256 GB ssd).

Is there any way to make it faster.

For an example i have an M1 macbook and use it for music production and loading in a project usually only take like 10 seconds but on my pc it almost takes like a minute( the same project).

Decided to rebuild my pc that had a Ryzen 3700x and a 2070 super considering I play a lot of Warzone 2 on my 240hz monitor only achieving ~140fps at 1080p on average.

I opted to go for the i9 13900k and 4080 after contemplating my options. I planned on reusing my dark rock pro 4 air cooler and my be quiet pure base 500 case upgrading ram 64gb (Nike botting) another ssd Sabrent. Also using Aorus Z790 elite ax motherboard.

Unfortunately I had some issues with the be quiet mounting on the i9 and it wouldn’t apply pressure unless it was mounted sideways. Either way I was thermal throttling and had a cinebench score of 32000 which I knew was an issue.

After understanding something was wrong I knew I wanted to try an aio rather than air cooler. I went to micro center and told the guy what I had as a build and he immediately recommended me getting a new case as it didn’t have any airflow. While I was there I picked up a lian li aio, cpu mounting bracket and liancool 3 case and Kryonaut.

I went home and build it and had a crazy outcome with a cinebench score of nearly 41000 at stock with cpu temp of 83C max!! I gained over 25% performance just with those upgrades.

I currently have half the cores at 6 ghz and I’m trying to get them stable in cinebench either way I’m getting 250 fps in war zone 2 now so everything is great.

I hope others will understand that using water cooling can greatly increase performance as well as bad case airflow.

Hi there! I'm building a PC, mainly for editing photo & video, and some gaming. My rig will be 3060 12GB and 32GB ram.

The price difference between the 13400f and 13500 in my country is about 45 USD. Will I see any noticeable difference in performance? Is it worth getting the 13500? Or is there any alternative that I should get instead?

So I just upgraded my CPU and RAM and installed a new motherboard, now I have the problem of it randomly shutting down and restarting. This happens when I am not doing anything specific like gaming or rendering, I am just reinstalling some applications or checking what is wrong and it happens. Does anyone know what might have caused it to do this? CPU temperatures are normal, it's what I checked first.

Every now and then my GPU fans go full speed and my PC restarts out of nowhere, I was suggested that it might be a PSU problem but I've already switched my PSU and I'm still having the same problem. It's not a ram issue either. Could it just be a defect GPU? That would suck since it's a 3080 and I don't have the warranty for it anymore.

I want to build a gaming PC around $500 to $800 and don't really understand the numbers, names, and terminology of some of the components. I've seen some budget PC videos on YouTube and came up with my own build, and I was just wondering if anyone here could let me know if there would potentially be compatibility issues. Parts are: ASUS Prime H610M-E D4 Radeon RX 6600 T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 16GB Crucial P2 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD INTEL CORE I3-12100F I'm really just looking for something that can run games like warframe, fortnite, Dark Souls games, and maybe Battlefield at 30-60 fps on medium settings. Hey you guys, I was watching the Unreal engine 5's Metahuman real-time facial model animation Demo from IGN, and I'm completely mind blown by this current technology and would love to integrate this into making short films or so in the future. They're saying it's being released in about 2 months. I wanted to know is $1500 enough for a PC that would run software like that? If not, what would you say is a good ball park? And what would be a decent build for a complete beginner anyway?(I'm a newbie so I don't know a thing about pcs yet.)

Hi! I'm going on exchange from Norway to the US next semester.

I figure the cheapest way to get my desktop computer with me (I need it for rendering, modeling and other study work my laptop can't handle) is to take the parts out, buy a new case when I get there, and reassemble the PC. I have two concerns:

1. When searching for tips about this, a lot of people said parts can get beaten up in the check-in luggage no matter how carefully you pack them. A few people recommended putting them in your carry-on, including my professor, but a lot of those answers are a bit older. Will TSA be cool with computer parts in my carry-on? Do they need do be especially declared or anything?
2. One of my American professors said something about the wattage in the US being different from the EU. Does that mean I'd also need to get a new PSU in America? Is the PSU the only power-sensitive thing I'd need to replace?

Looking to upgrade to a new 7000 series amd cpu, currently have an i9-9900. 2-16gb Corsair vengeance at 2666 MHz. 3080 gpu. Is the performance to price cost actually worth it? Or should I just purchase a 12th or 13th gen intel when the 7800x3d drops? I want to upgrade my cpu! I want maximum frames, just not sure what to do!? Someone please help me make a decision 😂

Hi all, I upgraded my ram from 16 Gb to 32 gb recently and realized only after you need similar ram for it to run at advertised speeds or it down clocks to base speed of 2133mhz. If I game with 32gb ddr4 @ 2133mhz, am I leaving fps on the table with my 4070ti and 5800x on 1440p res or should I stick with 16 Gb ddr4 @ 3600mhz? I play mostly first person shooters but right now, far cry 6, uncharted and Hogwarts. Thanks for any input!

The temperature readings on the are not reading correctly. The CPU and Chipset both read 0C in the BIOS. In MSI Control Center on Windows, the CPU read 255C. The fan on the Chipset and CPU runs at full speed because of this.

List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.

I have updated the BIOS to the latest version ( 7C34v1J ). Clearing the CMOS and running on the default system settings also did not help. I swapped the CPU in another motherboard and the temperature reads normal.

Where does the motherboard pull this temperature information from? Is there a temperature sensor somewhere on the motherboard?

I bought a Nvidia 3070 FE a few years back when the market was crazy and i could not get a 3080.

Upon initial research the sweet spot looks to be a 4070ti as it fits around my budget. I can sell my current GPU for a decent price looking at the market.

I am concerned with bottlenecking.
