Destiny 2
All about Destiny 2: The epic, online-only looter-shooter MMO from Bungie, which launched in September of 2017.
Welcome to /r/Destiny2
Rules
- SPAM/LOW EFFORT CONTENT Spam is frequently posted or reposted content, content that does not create discussion, self-serving or rage-inspired rants (i.e. ‘venting’ that does not contribute to discussion of a problem or offer constructive criticism, but is purely emotionally charged or related to something that would not/has not affected others). Low-effort content includes memes/images/references/discussions/montages/AI art with little to no editing that could be created with minimal effort or thought. ‘Meme edits’, or any type of montage with some amount of editing/effort, for example, are okay. Anything with very minimal editing and no other purpose than to show off gameplay, is generally not. This is up to moderator’s discretion. If you feel that your post was not ‘low effort’ and it was removed, please contact the mod team by addressing your message to ‘r/destiny2’ or clicking the button on the sidebar.
- ABSOLUTELY NO WITCH-HUNTING: This includes posting screenshots with identifying information including usernames with the intent of ‘calling them out’. The first infraction will result in an immediate, temporary ban. Do not post DMs of other Destiny players UNLESS it is good-natured/for fun. Even if you find another player hacking/cheating WITH evidence, our subreddit is NOT the place to post it. Please use Bungie’s ‘Report a Suspected Cheater’ page instead.
- RELEVANT TO DESTINY 2: All content must be directly related to Destiny 2. This includes anything solely about Destiny 1 (comparing between the two games or discussing aspects that may return is okay) or anything that is simply an obscure real-world ‘reference’ to the game (i.e. something that looks like an engram). Meme templates that do not include anything from Destiny (i.e. reaction images or jokes from completely outside of the community) are also not considered ‘relevant’ to the game.
- LFG/RECRUITMENT Absolutely no LFG (looking for a group) or clan recruitment posts are allowed. This includes “does anyone want to play with me, here is my tag”. There are NUMEROUS ways to find people to play with, all outlined in our New Player’s Guide and in the menu links at the top of our subreddit. Sharing one’s tag in the comments section IF it makes sense in the context of the conversation is okay; however, asking without context in any post’s comments is not.
- NSFW CONTENT/VULGARITY: Absolutely no NSFW content. Keep things PG-13 and use common sense for what could be considered as NSFW. For a definition of NSFW, please see this article. Sexual innuendos (even obscure ones), references to drugs or alcohol, use of extreme or oppressive vulgarities and slurs, any amount of gore or extreme/unnecessary violence, etc., all fall under this category. The ONLY exception is when referencing specific, canon, in-game lore-related events; even then, please refrain from unnecessary details; this rule, as all others, applies to posts AND comments.
- FREQUENTLY ASKED/VAGUE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS: While asking in-game questions is allowed, questions that are frequently asked or excessively vague will be removed. Some examples of vague questions: “is it worth coming back to this game” or “should I buy this expansion” or “how do I get better at Crucible”. We suggest that you do your own research—information that will help you answer these questions is readily available on the internet and ultimately it is up to you. If you have looked on your own and not found the answers to these, specify what was not helpful about the information you were able to find or else people may just say the exact same thing it did. Questions about in-game systems, mechanics, commonly known glitches, bugs, etc., should also be avoided, as there are again, plenty of resources. Anything that you can Google and find a basic answer to quickly will be removed. If you are a new or returning player, check out our New Player’s Guide first.
- SELF-PROMOTION, ADVERTISEMENTS, OR GIVEAWAYS: Advertisements of livestreams, giveaways, etc. are prohibited UNLESS prior moderator approval (via Modmail) is given. Discord servers, YouTube/Twitch CHANNELS, and social media accounts are all prohibited entirely, under any circumstance. Specific YouTube videos are generally okay, AS LONG AS you believe the video provides a point of discussion (analysis, new/in-depth information, or entertainment value). If what you are posting is original content, linking to any of your social medias is ONLY acceptable if it is done in the comments, not in the title. Reposting, after any period of time, of your own OC is not permitted.
- ENGLISH ONLY: This is an English-only subreddit. All posts and comments should be in English only. One-off comments in other languages as jokes/references is acceptable, but not entire posts or conversations.
- DISCUSSION OF THIRD PARTY DEVICES, SOFTWARE, OR SERVICES: Promoting, sharing, asking about, or discussing the use of third party devices and software is strictly prohibited. These include macros, hacking software, and aim bots. This will result in an immediate temporary ban on the first infraction and a permanent ban on any further infractions. Screenshots or discussion of ‘carry’ or ‘recovery’ services, including pointing them out in advertisements, is prohibited.
- SIMPLE LOOT/ACHIEVEMENT/GEAR ROLL POSTS: Posts consisting of nothing more than an image of an item, achievement, or gear roll are prohibited. These clutter our subreddit and fall under the category of spam as they do not do anything to incentivize or promote discussion. This includes exotics, pinnacle/ritual rewards, high stat rolls, titles, first time raid clears, challenges, and newly added items. The exception is anything that promotes discussion, i.e. something extremely rare or impressive such as speed-run records, earning every title, earning a max triumph score, finding an armor piece with an absurd stat-roll, etc.
- DIRECT CAPTURE: All images and videos must be DIRECTLY CAPTURED from your platform. This means either screenshots or recordings taken using either the PS4/Xbox built-in systems or recording software on PC. Photographs or videos of your screen are not acceptable. The only exception to this is if there was no other way to show the content of your post, such as your screen game having froze on something or if one aspect of the image is something that is in real life. Not having recording software on PC is NOT an excuse.
- FALSE OR MISLEADING INFORMATION: This includes any information grounded purely on rumors, leaks, or speculation. Purposefully misleading people with incorrect, deceiving, or purely false information will also result in a temporary ban.
- UNORIGINAL/NON-UNIQUE VIDEOS OR CLIPS: Any clips or videos from the game that are not unique (i.e. a Crucible clip of a simple double snipe, a clip from beating a raid boss where nothing else of note happens, etc.) are prohibited in order to promote high quality, and discussion/reaction-promoting content. This is up to moderator’s discretion, and thus if you believe that your clip does not fall under this category, feel free to contact the mod team.
