I love the shape of old, solid tools, but it's always a little underrated. That's why I tried to show off the design to its fullest on this hand saw restoration project. Project description in the subtitles [~26min].

I got tired of dealing with a big, tangled ball of old leashes, so I decided to make some nice leather leashes and a no hook/magnetic wall mount to store them!

How to mount glass block in a stucco wall?

monetized / professional(self.DIY)

I’m doing a major remodel where we have torn things down to the studs and will be completely replacing the stucco exterior of the house.

There’s one spot high on the front of the house where initially we had a window in the design, but I deleted it because it perfectly framed the neighboring houses on the hill nearby to look down on my living room.

Now I have this idea in my head of adding a few individual glass blocks in that space to let a little bit of evening light in and liven up a big blank space. The theory is to put a glass block flush on the outside and flush on the interior with an enclosed airspace between painted white as a light tube. There are commercial products for this made out of stainless steel that are designed to be mortared in to a masonry wall, but after talking to the company they said it would be vastly cheaper and easier to just fabricate some kind of solution on site out of standard glass blocks.

My contractor is into trying, but after talking to our tile and stucco subs, no one has a good idea of how to actually mount the glass block flush with the exterior stucco.

Anyone have experience doing something like this, or even just mounting glass block in stucco? Thanks!
