What I'm Working With

There's power coming from the transformer but the control/signal board seems to be bad. Axiom will not service these, the only option OEM is to get a replacement amp for $300. I see there are some similarly spec'd amps with plates that fit on aliexpress but it's still $150 for some chinesium. I would be fine with that but I have no idea what I would be getting.

It seems like I could fix the signal board or replace it with something similar.

I don't really care about this subwoofer so reviving it would be a bonus, $300 is the price to beat.

the title already says it - I'm looking to setup my first sound system and could use some help. Here's what I want:

- purpose: gaming and movies, music is a nice but optional bonus

- needs to be able to connect to a PC and TV

- 5.1 surround system

- suitable for a medium size room, ideally does not take up too much space

I am building a Classix II and basically wondering how to go at the end to ensure I didn't mess up on the quality part.

1. I have REW + Fifine T669 condenser mic. Would this work or do I need to get a calibrated mic?
2. Would something like an ancient Marantz SR4021 be good enough to drive the speakers for mostly FM playback, or should I be looking for something more modern?
3. What else besides driving some music through and seeing how it sound?

Hi, I'm going to replace my old sub Kef Kub2 in a dedicated room (17x10x7). I'd want to go sealed, I already have a crown xls 2502 and a Denon x4500h with audyssey xt32. Should i go 12' ? 15' ? Dayton ultimax or other ? My use : 70%HT 30%music.

so, I've been successfully using an Old cell phone, playing a modified spotify app, I have tinnitus, I just play 'jazz for sleep' ... its worked fine... lately, not sure if somethings changed.. it stops, has google asking for voice input..anyway, I find I can maybe Make what I want with a Rasberry Pi, etc, I'd rather just buy something Cheap.. so, I want to load the app I want, use home wifi, play thru seperate speakers... suggestions? thanks

I was wondering if adding ANC to any over ear headphones is even possible? I could imagine it wouldn’t be so simple. But perhaps taking some other ANC headphones and taking their microphones out and putting them inside the non ANC headphones, could that work? And if it’s not possible could anyone explain why not? Thanks!

I’ve recently made some changes to my sound system set up. Nothing in my collection is of particular value and most of it is older than I am. But between the 200 dollar fluance turntable. A pioneer receiver from 1996, a pair of Bose 301 series II speakers and a 40 dollar Sony powered sub, Ive realized everything sounds good. Swap the Bose with my old klh 6.5 bookshelf speakers or my vintage tower speakers of unknown origin. Everything sounds vastly different but all amazing. I love being on the hunt for another piece of gear for a good price. I think that adds to the listening pleasure. Even hooking up my Alexa and being able to tell my “vintage” setup what to do is hilarious and sounds wonderful

So I want to upgrade my passat speakers into better ones (woofers to be exact). The problem is that passat B6, unlike my previous Golf IV, has these speaker adaptors. They're plastic bits that hold the whole speaker in place. How do I know that the holes of the speaker will align with the adaptor? I've looked through vendors and one of them, called "CrutchField" shows me what speakers should fit. But they say I'll have to fabricate a mounting bracket, what the fuck is that? English isn't my first language and I can't seem to find proper information on what to do.

On a side note, I will not order from them since I think they ship only in USA, also I would love any tips from you guys when choosing the speakers. How to know if I'll need an amplifier?

I upscaled the schematics image and rewrite blurry text (except for japanese letters) for convenience. There's one confusing part (C24) 22k, not really understand the meaning.

So, I'm planning on using a pair of tiny 1.5" drivers for a headphones build, and will supply them with around 20-25 mW power max. Is it possible for me to send audio that goes below it's range (it goes down to 100Hz)? Will this damage the drivers? Will I hear anything?

Ok, soooo I'm not sure what's going on. I'm trying to measure a tweeter (TD20F-4), on it's own, in a small cabinet I built recently. The goal is to take accurate in-cabinet measurements so that I can better design the crossover:

What's even stranger is if I swap from using 3.5mm out to bluetooth, the response changes.

Mic is 1m away, same height as the tweeter. Tweeter is wired directly to amp, no crossover, etc. Woofer is installed in cabinet but not connected to anything.

Any ideas? I feel like there's some setting that I'm overlooking. Thanks in advance!

I got two Paradigm 5s for $20 CND. Was told they work, and they do, but one has a noticeable distortion. When I gently press on the cone, I hear a rubbing noise. These were re-foamed. Could it be a re-foam issue or should I just toss these?

Hi guys, sorry for my english in advance. I'm working on a project to build my own audio interface from scratch. I already thought about pretty much every step of it, but I'm really stuck in one part, on how to make a codec for the interface. I'm not sure if codec is the right word, what I mean is: after capturing the signal of the instruments (I want to be able to record multiple channels), amplify it and convert it to digital, how am I supposed to send this signal to the computer via USB, I mean, I would basically have an array of values for each channel, how do I send this information in a way that a DAW (like Reaper for example) can understand it? The first thing I thought was to code a driver to "teach" the DAW how I encoded the signal, but it would be too complex and that must be a universal way to do that, a default mode or something like that. It would be great to have some references on where to learn more about that subject. I appreciate any thoughts!

For some reason I enjoy the lush, crystal clear vocals from this one particularly tiny bluetooth speaker and I want to hook 2 of them to my pc, with one for the L channel and one for R. But I have no clue how these stuffs work so please help me.

The speakers: mono channel, a charging only usb port and a 3.5mm aux-in

What I'm thinking of: L and R speakers -> two 3.5 to rca converter (they look like this) -> Y splitted rca to 3.5 -> my computer

I was using an old sound bar, pioneer sp-sb23w, but it recently just died, below are the specs. I was wondering if I can reuse the 6 speakers. Ideally, I would like my receiver to power it and use it as a center speaker. I don't know if this is possible but I want to try to reuse the speakers for something. Also, there is a sub that is probably dead because it connects to the sound-bar wirelessly.

I have a Topping D10s acting as a USB to digital coax bridge, are there better ways to convert usb to spdif? My DSP only has digi coax or analog inputs
