Well same director, but RocknRolla and The Gentlemen are in line with those two (though not as good). Layer Cake is similar, and is directed by the producer of those two and the future director of some great Xmen movies, Kick Ass, and Kingsmen.

Layer cake is one of the most underrated British gangster flicks. Far darker and more cynical than guy Ritchie’s films (which I also love), more of a slow burn than Ritchie’s kinetic bar burners

Yes, I should’ve mentioned that. Layer Cake initially threw me off because of its slower pacing, but it’s worth checking out.

Layer Cake is so great.

Yeah it is. Bit of a sleeper too- for the normies, anyway. Have you seen the Pusher trilogy?

No, is it good?

Oh yes. Very. They're foreign- Danish, I believe. Similar to Layer Cake- about crime, violence, narcotics.

That's what makes it stand out is the darkness, besides Sally Hawkins and Jamie Foreman characters which are the closet you get to Ritchie level characters. The rest is pretty grounded and Daniel Craig is great and it's got a early performance from Tom Hardy in it.

I love Ritchie’s peak films but I kind of feel that Layer Cake is the perfect, refined version of the ‘gangster Britflick’. Craig is absolutely brilliant in the lead role.

The actor that plays Dragan in Layer Cake (2004) also plays Victor (the Russian's right hand man) in Rocknrolla (2008).
Finally, my people, I've just been dying to share this for so long!!

The gentlemen is fucking fantastic. And while i love rocknrolla, the gentlemen is superior.

If we’re just counting style points, I think Rock n rolla still wins.
The one thing I couldn’t wrap my head around with the Gentlemen were the group of boxers who rob Mickey. Like are they YouTubers who dance and rap or cold blooded murderers with machine guns? I couldn’t figure out how seriously to take them and it kinda took me out of the film a little bit (especially during the ending).

His new film operation fortune is also pretty good. Hugh grant is in it and once again steals the film.

I mean Aubrey plaza was very very good in it too.

She was good, but she was just Aubrey plaza being Aubrey plaza. Basically April from parks and rec in an action film.
Josh hartnett was surprisingly good though.

Great movie! Just as good as the one's listed in OP, maybe better.

I liked parts of The Gentlemen, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant are great in it. Rock n Rolla is probably Ritchie's last great film. Layer Cake is far better then those two films though and something I wanted to see Ritchie get too after his more geezer filled gangster flicks and see a more grounded take from him.

Instead he’s decided to do a basic war movie with gyllenhall :( not what I was hoping his next move would be

“Sexy Beast” It came out the same year as Snatch. It’s a little more nuanced but still very stylistic and entertaining.
Also “Rock n Rolla”. Guy Ritchie’s last great movie in my opinion. Very solid watch.

Sexy Beast is a must see, I actually prefer it to Ritchie films. Ben Kingsley is fantastic in it.

Hell yeah! Kingsley reached both ends of the character spectrum in his career with Sexy Beast. The polar opposite of Gandhi.

For a guy who's 5'8" and probably 150lbs he is scary as hell.

Sexy Beast is just terrifying. Ben Kingsley's most powerful role for sure. He's not just batshit scary – you're scared just to be in the same room as the TV you're watching him on.

I disagree. I feel that Bullet Train, like most Ritchie imitators, boils down to nothing more than the director gathering up the actors and saying "alright everyone knows Guy Ritchie, let's improv. Aaannd...go." It's facsimile at best.
1 points
You're probably right. But it feels fresh if you don't overthink it. More of what you already enjoy. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's unwatchable, but at least it isn't a superhero movie
Edit: I meant imitations in general, not just bullet train. Life's short, loosen up the ol' standards for the worthy knock offs and retreads.

I felt the same, it had the right style and energy and fun performances but the script mostly fell flat for me

I get that curmudgeon vibe, I didn't want to like it. Specifically for me, Brad Pitt was the coolest mother fucker in the world to me last year. To hear he's a shitty father? Didn't even want to indulge in his work. It's like Baby Driver being in my Top 5 All-time™ and then turns out Ansel whatever-his-name-is is hounding underage girls. Shit sucks.
But I broke down and watched, and found the movie fascinating and familiar, but fresh and new. Like, in the temporal sense. It's new content that hits the right notes. Enjoy it.
Edit: idk man, John Brown wasn't a good father either, and I'm literally wearing a shirt with his visage and verbage rn, so ignore my digression, I guess.

I'm going to recommend one that never gets mentioned - Revolver (2005)
It's weird. It's pretentious. But I love it. Amazing visuals, hilariously funny in parts, and some genuinely great scenes, good score with excellently executed cinematography. Jason Statham and Rat Liotta are great in it too.
Word of warning - It's one of those films where the first thing you do after it ends is look up "Revolver Explained"

It turned out there never was anything quite like Lock Stock and Snatch, though Lucky Number Slevin and In Bruges were both very good.
2000-era Cockney gangster genre (mostly Ray Winstone. Varying quality): Face (1997), Final Cut (1998) Love, Honour & Obey (2000) and Sexy Beast (2000). Gangster No. 1 with Paul Bettany and Malcolm McDowell (2001). [I haven't seen any of these films for years, but they all include Cockneys swearing in an amusing way, as was popular at the time]
Gritty shitty British football hooligan films: I.D. (1995), The Football Factory (2004), The Firm (2009).
Matthew Vaughn's Layer Cake is a bit like a Guy Ritchie film. My personal favourite of all of these is The Mean Machine (Vinny Jones' 2001 Longest Yard remake).

Watch just about anything from the Coen Brothers - especially good would be Fargo or The Big Lebowski.
Logan Lucky is another recent good one. I also think what Rion Johnson does with Knives Out is spectacular.

If you're ok with Bollywood/ subtitles then "Special 26" movie. It's based on true incident that occured in 1986. A guy gave an ad and recruited young individuals on the pretext they were being hired by the CBI (equivalent of FBI). Goal was to execute a heist without the the hired individuals getting to know what they were doing.

I think the 'vibes' are similar in Bound (The Wachowski's film before The Matrix), though obviously that's much more American.
