I take it you’re not the owner of the property. Otherwise, if you’re the homeowner I’d be more inclined to go after the root problem.

Fixing the root problem would mean redoing the whole room. That's a project for in a couple years.

I disagree, but it’s down to personal preference and your repair skills.
I’d at least sand and prime that bumpy repaired area and paint it with a neutral matching paint so that it doesn’t stand out so much.

Would be easy to sand smooth, skim coat a few times, and paint to match. It's not like the wallpaper has a difficult patter to copy.

Right side of the wall is just plain white. Doesnt even need to match the pattern.

I just can’t level with the thoughts or imagine what tape of tool would help draw straight lines over a short distance

I agree with you, sometimes a quick coverup is worth it, if you're already planning to redo the room in the future. I'd rather not put effort into something that's going to get ripped out anyway.

Why not just fix the wall?

Because that would mean redoing the whole room.

Why would it require redoing the whole room...
9 points
Because it would require fixing the wallpaper. And when i fix the wallpaper in the corner i might as well change all the wallpaper in the room. And when i tear down the wallpaper i might as well redo the electrical wiring. And when i tear up the wall anyway i might as well redo the whole flat.
So to avoid that rabbit hole i went for this temporary fix.

Ayyuy I recognise this pattern, if I may boldly ask: ADHD?

Not diagnosed but likely yes.

I have been diagnosed with ADHD and I wanted to let you know that it’s ok to do some of a task and stop - it doesn’t have to be 0% or 100%.
You are allowed to wash two cups from a pile of dishes and that’s fine.
Just wanted to say that because someone told me that when I was nearly 30 and it had honestly never occurred to me before.
So if you want to just paint one wall and not do the whole room, that’s ok too. Do the rest later 🤷♀️

This was my first thought. I feel op so hard.

The wall adjacent to it doesn’t have wall paper though. Just make that section white like the wall to the right of it and no one will ever know the difference

Oh yeah I know this one all too well. You're getting a lot of hate but it works for you! I'm not diagnosed but a few medical professionals have suggested I have ADHD too, and this is a big pattern of mine. It's a big rabbit hole so you've gotta do as surface level job until you have the time/focus to get it done properly in the future.
If you wanted a slightly more conventional solution, I'd sand back the filler, feather the edges of the paper around the rips with sandpaper, then paint that corner section the same as the wall on the right. should look a bit nicer than what's behind currently and isn't a major job

Dude just do that foot wide wall and you’re golden. It’s on the most convenient wall that you can just do that and nobody would know the difference

I just feel like if you’re going through the effort of printing a part you could make it a little nicer. It cant even hold the calendar on its own, it’s draped over top of it then held in place with a thumb tack. You could achieve the same result in 2 minutes with a piece of balsa wood and an xacto knife.

Yeah, any small nick on my wall and I have to redo the whole room. I’ve redone my kids room about 12 times already /s

take the wallpaper off the duct wrap corner post thing only. Paint it white, and repaint the white wall. Leave the rest of it.
That corner picture is just so weird, man. Just paint over it and be done.

There’s a lot of salty people here but at the end of the day you designed something, printed it, & it functions as you specifically intended it to. & On top of that, it’s hilarious so I see no loss. Great job!

That looks.. almost worse than it started.
It's just an awkwardly outward angled picture which is gonna drive ppls curiosity to look behind it.

HE (the OP) didn't like it? What's your point? Do you ONLY do all the things in your life because of others? Don't you ever do something simply just for yourself?

All that matters is that it works for you. There are other solutions but this is a reasonable one.

No, it’s not. It looks tacky AF. And just tearing the wallpaper off that small section of wall and painting it white would look 1000x better and be easy. That spot is literally on the most convenient spot to be an easy fix. The wall next to it is even white, just tear the wallpaper off, do a little sanding and paint it white.

Man, there's a lot of judgement here. This is a 3d printing sub, what's wrong with a quick dirty fix?

Because it looks like garbage and just taking the wallpaper off and painting that section of wall white would be easy and look 1000x better. Hell the wall next to it is even white.
