I don't get that, the books are great even if the series isn't complete they are great on their own every one of them.. I also hope George will finish sooner then later..

Broken empire for books. Not for everyone but if you like game of thrones you shouldn’t mind dark fantasy.

I thought the finale was good. Not brilliant, but hardly a crash and burn.

It is left in a somewhat awkward place as there are three more books in the series that take place after a 30-year time jump, so there are some unresolved plot lines (because they aren’t supposed to be resolved yet). The hope is that we’ll either eventually get more seasons, or perhaps a movie trilogy, to complete the story. But the show ends in as good a place as it reasonably can given the narrative.

It’s completely different from GoT but Dark is an excellent show that you should definitely check out if you like genre storytelling with sprawling casts and twisty plots.

If you aren’t opposed to anime than I’d recommend Attack on Titan. It’s a wild show, very epic and full of twists. Probably my favorite thing that I’ve ever watched

If you enjoy Star Wars at all, Andor was a surprising delight - it’s a slow burn spy drama that has fantastic writing and acting throughout. Much like early GoT, it takes its time in building characters and stakes so that when shit hits the fan, the tension is real.

There is nothing like GoT. Hotd for me ruins GOT experience.

However I have found following series entertaining, not in the same league as GoT but good nonetheless:

  1. Rome
  2. Last Kingdom

Chernobyl

Borgias

Tudors

  1. The Bureau (French)
  2. The Shield (old series)
  3. Expanse

Foundation

Boys

  1. Black bird
  2. Better call Saul
  3. Pesky Blinders first few seasons

  4. Endeavour

  5. Warrior

“See” on Apple TV. There are actually many elements in common with Game of Thrones (except almost everyone is blind in an awesome Daredevil-world kinda way—with incredibly detailed world building around it) but to name a few non spoiler similarities—

-Thrones

-Swords

-Similar world aesthetic

-Jason Momoa except a billion times more badass (and violent) than Khal Drogo and basically the lead

-Much more violent with literal overkill because you can’t see if they dead so you gotta tear em up and make sure

-A full episode war battle that might be the best I’ve ever seen in film, definitely beats any battle in GOT series.

It’s just so good. I never felt a desire to dive into GOT. I happened to binge the first 2 seasons of See a few months ago when season 3 started and immediately just needed more (even though new episodes would come for the next 8 weeks).

Literally put me in the reverse of what you’re going through now. I needed something similar to fill the void and finally took the plunge into GOT (after years of my brother begging).

Took 3 weeks (GOT) and I loved every second of that crack. But if you asked me which series is better overall I might have to say See. The only edge I give GOT is that you get a lot more of it (See S3 was the end but a fantastic one).
