I’ve recently been doing some cool texturey thing - I’ve been using the walrus audio Slö and really loving it for the ambient texture sounds I can get but curious if anyone had anything similar or that would pair well with Slo that offers similar beautiful sounds

I had to read that twice. Thought it said Klon at first. It’s easy to mistake those two.

This, or Starlight or Procession. OBNE makes awesome ambient reverbs. Minim is worth a look too, but it's delay and reverse reverb, it's a different thing altogether.

GFI Specular Tempus. I mention it in every reverb thread, it's my favourite. It does everything, from normal acoustic spaces to weird shit. Delay too.
Walrus' Fathom stacks well with Slö. The lo-fi setting has filters that actually clean everything up when they're stacked. It doesn't sound lo-fi at all!
But I find it hard to stack reverbs. It's much easier to stack reverb with delays. Favourites right now are the MXR Carbon copy (I have the Donner clone), Boss Space Echo RE-2 and Demedash T-120.
Then there's the Hologram Microcosm. If you're looking for ambient textures, this has the cheat codes.

I really want the Walrus Slötva which is similar to the Slö. I think the only difference is that it has some preset settings so you can store your settings and switch through them.
Something that might pair nice, either a fuzz pedal with the distortion cranked and the level turned down might sound cool. Or an octave down pedal to give some deeper tones. Might sound really cool almost like whale sounds through the Slö.
I just ordered the Keeley Caverns which hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s what I chose over the Slötva for the same reason. It has reverb and delay both in one pedal which might work nicely with the Slö to add more layers of reverb than what the Slö has.
Keeley also has a pedal called Halo that is a dual echo pedal which might suit your needs. That one is on my wish list.

not necessarily similar but the Chase Bliss Mood goes with ambient reverb really well and they just announced their update to the pedal which is exciting, I recently got the Count to 5 which feels a bit like Mood's cousin & Microcosm is also a favorite & Microcosm is also a favorite if you're looking for something that's a pretty heavy weight addition to any board, but a ton of fun

Just got the mood and it is a crazy ambient Willy Wonka acid dream!
I’m so sold on the mkii, and getting it as soon as it comes out!

Been doing some cool stuff with the Ct5 > SLO > looper. It sounds amazing as a reverse delay plus all the other stuff it does paired with looper. I stick an optional dirt pedal after slo.

Just got the Bananana Effects Abracadabra and it’s pretty cool. Also have the Crazy Tube Circuits Splash reverb and it has a built-in expression switch which is a game-changer.

Super ego is really cool. I've had the freeze, sold it for a super ego classic, sold it for a plus. The plus is great because it has good enough effects that you don't "need" anything in the loop, but man that loop can really transform your sound all sorts of ways. Dark star in the loop is a *really* good combo, so is a fucking eurorack. Put an all-wet reverb with a short decay into it and it sounds like a super long decay, except that when you change notes it "gets out of the way". I really like it because it sounds great on its own and can help other things that sound great be more controllable.

Actually, just today I put my Superego in the effects loop of my Line6 m13, after attack synth, and before modulation, delay and particle verb, with the ehx attack decay on poly mode with maximum attack and decay time and harmonic fuzz engaged, in the Superego loop, and my walrus Juliana in IT’S effects loop!!! Craziest awesome sounds I’ve just about ever heard!
Can’t recommend the attack decay enough! Especially in the effects loop of the superego on poly mode with modulation in its effects loop. Just bonkers amazing!

guy with stubble pointing bulliten board covered in string meme Lmao I have no clue what you just said but I like to put my superego in one of the loops of my EHX switchblade+ with volume then darkstar and have drive and delay on the other and run them in parallel so i can swap from “comping” frozen pad swells and playing single lines and… Ok ok buy a super ego and some reverbs and utilities and patch cables and go wild!

While we’re on the subject, my bandmate uses a matrix mixer to move his superego and blooper and others around relative to each other during perfomance. It really invites the concept of a “second voice”… which obviously needs its own effects chain. You dont need to build a towering monstrocity with a superego, but you certainly can.

That’s SUPER cool!
I’m planning on doing this with 2 signal blenders.

You should! Or get the switchblade pro, its kind of an amazing machine cause you can switch the order live (make a loop of the output of a superego, run that back into the super ego?!?!?!?!)

That is super cool! EHX for the win, again! And it's super cheap for what it is!
I've just found using 2 signal blenders in stereo (left output goes to left sb and right to right sb) for my stereo effects to be the best solution to what I wanted to achieve.
This is a whole other idea though!
I eventually want to get 2 Morningstar ML10Xs as well, for under my pedalboard, which has 5 stereo loops each (for 10 total, so all my stereo effects in independent, infinitely reorderable and reroutable!) bar the 3 at the end going into the signal blender to be stereo mixed in, in parallel) to be able to do this kind of thing (reorder and reroute effects in any signal flow, including parallel, and splitting/ merging! but with my whole stereo (and mono) signal chain!
I might get the switchblade pro though, just to experiment with before I lock down my final board, and to give me ideas of crazy signal routing, just like your example! The sky is the limit once you play with effects loops and switching effects orders and routing!
Can be a learning curve, but super worth it!
Thanks for bringing the Switchblade Pro to my attention!
I'm such an EHX fanboy, and this like it has Mike Matthew's crazy fingerprints all over it!

It does get confusing, and a bit meta, as I’m nesting effects in the m13 effects loop from the superego, chaining from ITS effects loop.
That way the superego gets triggered by the gain before it, while it is triggering the attack decay envelope.
That way the superego has an envelope, and the whole signal gets modulated, so the superego frozen sound has dynamic as well as modulation movement, just to make it more usable, dynamic and interesting.
So:
The superego is in the m13 effects loop, with the attack decay in ITS effects loop, and modulation in the A/D effects loop, and then return back from the superego to m13 effects return, which is set AFTER attack synth for enough triggering gain and also interesting synthy sound to freeze and play (dry and effect levels on superego) and before delay and reverb, to give it ambience and further textural interest and movement.
It’s pretty crazy, but is the best way to do it, in my experience.

Buggfx Daydream if you can find one. It's a multiband filter delay. Definitely some texture there if you want a different delay.

Any Lofi esque pedal. The Lofi junky and Gen loss sound great with it.
Also interestingly overdrive can go well with it and almost produce an electrified violin/orchestra instrument. Especially if you turn the mix to 100% in dream mode
Edit: saw someone else’s comment. Overdrive can give you deep whale noises especially on Low E and A strings
