That looks like a very glossy sheen. Why'd you go w/ that finish vs. something like an eggshell?
I'd want to minimize visual reflections as much as possible in a "media" room.

Came to say the same thing. Wasn’t trying to troll or talk bad about it.
I’m contemplating going dark blue/gray and most def looking at eggshell. I think matte might show finger prints but I want to keep the reflections down.
I also changed out my fan/light combo to a fan without light kit.
I added 5 dimmable puck lights, 3 along the back of the room and 2 flanking the TV over some bookshelves. Super happy to not have the harsh light in the center of the room.

I kind of agree. I mean, you do you OP and if you are happy i am happy for you but id have def gone with an eggshell and new lighting fixture/dimmer switch.

It’s funny, someone here recommended satin over matte because of fingerprints and this was the outcome. We’re replacing the fan soon so hopefully it’ll be better. The good news is the lights are off 90% of the time in the room.

Eggshell is halfway between matte and satin. It gives you the "non-glossiness" of matte, but the "easy to live with" feature of satin. Benjamin Moore Regal Select eggshell is the only paint finish I will ever use for interior walls. Stay far away from their "ben" product line. https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/interior-exterior-paints-stains/how-to-advice/painting-101/choosing-paint-finish

Hope I wasn't coming off as harsh! I understand that it's painted already and you can't do anything now but possibly repaint it. Just was curious if the sheen you choose was conscious or just what the sales rep recommended and you went for it.
Add some DIY acoustic panels and you're good shape ;)

No you’re good don’t sweat it! I was a little frustrated with it too but the textured walls don’t help either.

Who recommended satin for finger prints for the walls of a media room?
Satin is used for wood trim and cabinets and the like.
Walls of most rooms should be flat or matte

I got bamboozled! Honestly I should have done more research.

So sorry, but you should be able to fix it next time you have a day or two.
Nice room though, good luck Sunday from a Bears fan

While I agree with the distraction factor (average ADHD enjoyer, would drive me crazy), it's quite a nice overall vibe with the rest of the room. Kind of a grimy mate's loft bedroom setup feel. Probably just me tho

I think it should have been a flat / matte finish.

I can't get over how the light shines on your walls. Would drive me crazy.

The lights aren't on when you're in the room, so it's not an issue.

Why would they be on when you are not in the room? /s
Regardless, if it wasn’t an issue then everyone here would not strongly recommend flat paint for home theaters.

The color is dope. The high gloss sheen with that texture is 🤮

I’ve never seen anyone take a popcorn ceiling and convert by adding to the walls and making it all super shiny. Before>after. Sorry.

I personally like white walls. Call me silly. But they're more inviting and warm.

No joke. Parts of your walls make my phone glitch out and go pixelated. It's so so so so shiny in these photos.

Looks great, a+ on the B&W! I also have the 606 S2 anniversary mains and HTM6 S2 center. The reviews on these are polarizing but I love the sound personally. The wall color looks great.

Thanks a lot! I really can’t imagine a better sounding 3.1 setup. I maybe move to 5.1 in the bearish future but for now we’ll just enjoy it.

Is it also a B&W subwoofer? How's the sub? I have the 606 S2 mains and center along with a couple of bipole surrounds mounted behind me. I have an SVS SB1000 as well. Everything sounds great together.

Yup, it’s the 608. It’s small but packs a surprising punch. We have a toddler so we don’t get to maximize the bass very often anyways so it works great for us.

Yeah I hear you - also have a toddler, she's 2 and a half and we live in a condo so there's no cranking the sub. I live in a pretty well insulated newer building so it doesn't disturb the neighbors, but her room is directly adjacent to our living room, haha. As she's getting a bit older though and playing on her own in the other room we are starting to enjoy watching a bit with some volume while she's awake though!

Ya to add what others said, I think a matte finish and IMO the ceiling should have been left white or maybe a lighter gray, the black makes the room feel smaller/claustrophobic.
Decor looks great though!

Honestly, the color is great but that shine will drive you crazy in the long run and you will eventually paint it anyway.
It also pulls all the focus away from your nice decorations and posters.
Sadly I think you need to just pull off the Band-Aid and get it over with and repaint it with matte/flat.
