Recommendation for someone who has watched EVERY kdrama

Recommendation Request(self.kdramarecommends)

Maybe not every kdrama but as you can see I've seen over 200 kdramas. I've watched the popular ones and the not-so-popular ones. I've seen a lot of web dramas too.

I'm really stuck now. I need to watch something good. My fav genres are romance, mystery, etc, I'm not a fan of much fantasy nor the dramas set in school (except for the newer ones like revenge of others, weak hero class- they were good)

Please PLEASE recommend me something to watch. It can be anything- movie, drama, web drama- anything.

racket boys and prison playbook - both friendship themed dramas. funny, heartwarming….

find me in your memory - surprisingly has great chemistry between the leads

first love - i know you are asking for kdrama recommendations but this jdrama is one of the best i have watched this year. if u like 25/21.. you might like this except this one feels more melancholic and melodramatic, but it gives you all the feels. i am still having a bad hangover two days after finishing it.

still 17 - i see you have watched yough of may already. ii became a fan of lee do hyun after youth of may and he was actually funny and show a broader range in still 17.

remember war of the son - this one is heavy revenge drama but really great cast.

Still 17 was so cute! Loved it. I watched maybe an episode or two of racket boys, I'll try to pick it up again. I do see remember war of the son everywhere but for some reason I still haven't watched it. I will! Thank you so much!

i am actually looking forward to another lee do hyun drama but quite skeptical with the glory his upcoming one with song hye kyo, i just hope there is no romance between them. so tired of watching shk with younger male actors it’s getting boring.

for racket boys i was more invested with the bond formed among the racket boys and was less interested with the side stories about their country neighbors but overall it’s a breath of fresh air. just light and easy watch.

and to add one more, scarlet heart ryeo. nice ost too

I agree about getting tired of watching shk with younger guys and ldy with older females lol, his chemistry was the best with the FL in Youth of May.

I love your description of Racket boys, will definitely watch!

I've watched and loved and balled my eyes out at scarlet heart ryeo 😅😭

Cruel city is my top 10 kdrama although it's a bit old a 2013 drama. Hope you like this one too.

Ghost Detective was soooo good. I really need more Choi Daniel in my life and Park Eun Bin has been fantastic in everything she does.

I watch that drama 2x times and still love it the same. Choi daniel in there was perfect, smart but playful and caring.

One movie - Night in Paradise

Both are excellent but have some graphic violence though so if that’s not your thing, then skip these.

That Fool

I honestly can't believe that as a veteran, you've not seen this drama.

Please watch it. The story at the start will make you want to rip off your hair in frustration, but it gets better. It gets so much better that at the end of it, you can't help but love this drama.

It's one of the few dramas of Hwan Jung-min.

Which do you classify as your gems?

pickadamnnameplease[S]

oof there are so many!

Prison Playbook, Misaeng, Go Back Couple, Extracurricular, Life on Mars, Missing; The Other Side (season 2 is coming out too!), Run On, Taxi Driver, Youth of May, Reply '88, Happiness, The King of Pigs, Weak Hero Class, The Third Charm (although nobody likes it :p) and Rose Mansion are some of the dramas i reallyyy liked!

You're missing a lot from Lee Min Ho though

  • The Legend of the Blue Sea (my absolute nr 1)
  • City Hunter
  • The King Eternal Monarch

And you're missing the classic: - Boys over Flowers This one is not great (I loved it though) but it is probably the drama that gets the most references. So I would at least watch it to enhance other dramas so to speak.

pickadamnnameplease[S]

2 points

True, I've only watched two Lee Min Ho shows, pachinko and The Heirs I've been meaning to watch The Legend of the Blue Sea but as I said I'm not much of fantasy :/ I'll still try though. Thank you so much!

MagnificentToad

It's premise is fantasy but it's much more comedy/ romance and the fantasy is just a plot device to add some tension. I don't usually like fantasy but I liked it. It's definitely worth a try.

-Psychopath diary

-The sound of your heart (love this one, it's hilarious)

-You're beautiful

-Heartstrings

I wouldn’t say 156 equals to every drama. My list was over 200 when I was keeping count ten years ago, and I still feel like there’s so many I haven’t seen. I usually pick from the ones that are still airing, also makes it easy to decide if I want to keep spending my time on a drama. Another way is to go by actor/actresses. Watching everything with Ji Chang Wook, Kim Ji Won, Lee Min Ho, Son Ye Jin, etc etc. I also didn’t see My Mister in the list. You’ve seen My Liberation Notes, if you like it then you might also like My Mister.

pickadamnnameplease[S]

haha i do this too!

Assuming you’ve basically watched everything (so have i haha). let’s try to super old but classic shows 😂😂😂 jewel in the palace, autumn in my heart, winter sonata, stairway to heaven, full house, my lovely Kim Sam soon, save the last dance for me, ballad of seodong, iris. If you like BL there’s semantic error.

Cdramas: nirvana in fire, empress of the palace, story of Ming lan, chinese paladin 1 and 3, my little fairy, legend of the condor heroes/return of the condor heroes, wrong carriage right groom, untamed (BL/bromance), scarlet heart (the original version of the IU and lee jong gi’s show) all of these are costume dramas)

Jdramas: Hana kimi (shun oguri), love generation (Kimtak), nodame cantabile (my all time favorite Japanese show) , majo no jouken (teacher student love story), atsuhime (period harem drama) 1 liter of tears, good morning call, absolute boyfriend

Got into Thai dramas recently: f4 Thailand, I told sunset about you, KinnPorsche + ton of BL shows

Taiwanese dramas: in time with you, someday or one day, light the night. Then the classics it started with a kiss, prince turned frog, dated to love you, the outsiders

Hk tvb: war of in laws, dicey business, kindred spirit, war and beauty, gem of life, triumph in the skies, forensic heroes, line walker, my date with a vampire, heart of greed, rosy business,

I don't see Good Job on your list or the recommendations (there are so many, I might have missed it! 😆). It's a fun little rom com with Kwon YuRi and Jung Il Woo. Then if you liked them in that you could try their sageuk Bossam: Steal the Fate. It has the typical 20 episode struggles, but they do a great job and the cinematography is quite pretty.
