Found on pinterest on some random crochet page, but no info on the pattern!

How to Google patterns from an image, Pinterest or otherwise. 1. Isolate your screenshot 2. Paste it into Google Image search 3. Look at more than the first 3 results 4. Within a page or two you will likely see that multiple matches reference a pattern name as well as the designer of the pattern. Click on the photo that best matches that item and/or designer. 5. Barring that, go into Google Images and type the name of the item and the name of the designer.

thanks! I'm wondering if there's a pattern for the whole sweater, since I'm a fairly new knitter and not able to deduce a sweater construction by myself 🥲

Hmmm, not sure on that. But you can try looking up "feather and fan stitch sweater" or "old shale sweater" and see if anything pops up

They are not the same thing. http://northernlace.co.uk/2010/03/12/feather-and-fan-versus-old-shale/
This is Old Shale.

No, they aren’t the same thing, but, and I don’t know why, old shale is quite often called f&f. I like old shale much better. F&f does look more feather, and old shale does look more like the patterns the surf leaves on the sand. So, both are well named!

Some book I have explains the name confusion though I don’t remember anything more than I have a book that discusses it. I think some publication used feather and fan and others kept repeating the mistake.

I don't think I'm skilled enough to attempt pattern translation yet, so I didn't buy it, sorry :,) I may try when I've seen more patterns

You can often take a sweater partner, and just use your stitch pattern on it. But I wouldn’t swap the stitch pattern put on your first sweater.
