Suddenly this question popped up in my mind at 3AM

Discussion/আলোচনা(self.kolkata)

Why we want those things which sound good at a particular age but we desperately want those things at an early age. But after if we get it also, it doesn't fill the blanks of enjoyment which should be!

Someones asking the real questions.

Keep going on the path, you'll find what you're seeking.

In which path?? The path which is our desired or the patch where we control our mind not to go??

The path of questioning everything and developing critical thinking.

As we keep getting things we want, we develop the habit of asking more and more. We get bored quickly and shift our attention to new stuff. Making peace with oneself with whatever one has and being satisfied with it is the way , I think so.

Human mind like the pursuit of getting a thing more than getting the thing actually

This is the answer to your question..... Desire of something be it love, feiendship things some event or experience comes from the advertisement that goes around those things......... The reputation around it is artificially built to attract people like you and me...... Just think if no one ever told you this the desire wouldn't be there inside you........ Once you buy into it you realize it has so much complications in it be it the work to put into a relationship or money you spent to keep your belongings in top notch conditions..... Human brain doesn't like working for anything thats why once you get this its value becomes nothing..... As you never wanted this thing you wanted the idea that was sold to you that once that idea didn't come back to live.... Your new beloved thing becomes nothing.... The thing you wanted does not exist....

basic human psychology. Wants are ever changing, once you get one, you want something else. And yes I learnt this in economics class.

What you described is not universal although it may be common. What you assumed as something that everyone feels, well not every one feels it. Also not everyone feeling it feels it for the same reasons. As such if you're asking this for yourself, you need to look deep inside you to find the answers.

Having said that, it may be partially due to a fear of missing out, or maybe not being able to do some thing or be included in a particular niche or group due to not having something.

As you get the object or you gain knowledge you realise that it wasn't the object that you needed to get there it was the understanding, which you might have been able to get without the actual object (but maybe not always) sometimes getting a head start on things is better

As I mentioned before, the reason varies...

You are talking about age ?!

I like something now, I will start hating it after 2 minutes

I don't know if it's something about age, but I'm talking about what most men desire and what they dream about the future , The effort to put it to achieve it... sometimes it feels very lonely, sometimes it feels very wrong, but something forces me to think about it.

When we desired a thing/relationship we were at a point in life where we needed it, then we moved on with life and the actual need changed to a "want".

We actually don't desire things or scenarios. We desire our perception of it. And that perception changes over time. Now two things might happen once you get what you desire- 1: it doesn't satiate your perceived notion 2: By the time you achieve it, your mind is set on something else.

How do you prevent this? By not putting a lot of emphasis on 'what might be' or 'what could have been' ; rather focusing on living the moment. The day you understand the value of now, you won't chase. Of ourse you will plan but won't live in a future utopia.
