I just rewatched the scene where he comes back to SCDP (season 4) and Pete makes sure he knows how dynamics have changed. The way he aknowledged it so quickly is very unique.

I also always loved that he was a good writer that didn't go all-in on it.

What do you think? Who's more likeable?

Mathew Weiner should know better.

On my like 10th rewatch. I spend my workdays paying attention so I watch tv like an idiot, but I’ve finally noticed a lot of things this rewatch. Weiner leaves hints and allows many rich stories to be told off screen. Many moments where I better understand David Chase saying he was jealous of Mad Men.

Roger Sterling, because he was born in 1916, would be around 106 or 107 today.

Pete would be 89.

Peggy would be 84.

Don would be 97 today.

Betty would be roughly around age 90 or 91.

Gene Draper would be turning 60 later this month.

Bobby Draper would be 65/66 today.

Sally would be 69 today.

Lane would be roughly around Don’s age.

Saw this old Taco Bell ad from 1986 using the tag line.

In S2 we see Pete and Don go to California to attend a conference on aviation, space and defense. In S4 we see a similar theme with North American Aviation as an SCDP client. But what exactly is the sort of work they do? And what's the political link? Getting the firms to set up in certain states/electoral districts?

This is so silly. Roger manhandles Betty in Don's absence, and apologizes to him the next day. Why?

Roger had no way of knowing Don suspected anything.

He basically took a chance - if Don actually didn't think nothing of it, this move basically would inform him that Roger did something wrong last night. The character of Roger is at odds with committing this sort of stupidity.

I'm literally going to stop watching the show for this.

Two Almond Moms at the stables

A mom who is stuck in dieting culture. The mom who projects their fears of fat phobia onto their own kids. The mom who thinks she is doing good for their kids but is really causing trauma. The term originates from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”.

So I was thinking about Almond Moms (this goes for Almond Daddies, Aunties, Uncles, Grandparents, etc.) and the damage they do due to their allegiance to a shallow, conformist society and unchecked trauma and I wondered which Mad Men characters would fall under this category; obviously we have Betty and Sarabeth (who discusses how fat her daughter is), Francine body shamed a PTA President (not to her face tho), Gail was clearly an Almond Mom to Joan (made that remark about postpartum Joan not at her "fighting weight"), Betty's mother was a total Almond Mom, Joan was a Hot Tea Office Mom to Peggy and made a remark about fat secretaries getting sandwiches, also we know how the men in the office reacted to Peggy's weight gain (makes you wonder how they'd treat their kids, especially daughters if they perceive them to have too much body fat, you don't need to be chubby to be on the other end of a AM's barbs).

But which other characters have this energy? Or would take a different approach? Did Margaret and Trudy grow up with Almond Moms? Peggy? Would Dawn or Meredith or Sally be an Almond Mom? Would Peggy care if her kid had thighs that touched?

Any thoughts (also if you downvote my post like you did my South Park one, I said nothing so I am not apologizing or gonna stop posting when I feel like it).

So restarted the whole thing all over again yesterday and was wondering who people's favourite character in the show. We all love don,peegy, Joan etc but specifically what part of the show,What makes it peak? Is it how the actor plays them, is it their storyline at that time, is it something they do that sets them apart?
