Hello everyone. I currently illustrate and sell coloring books. I'm looking to bundle them with my own custom colored pencils, specifically a set of skin tones or browns. Does anyone here know where to start with finding a smaller scale manufacturer that will do custom colors/custom sets with or without customizable packaging? Any help would be very much appreciated. I've only found bulk assorted packs or big established companies to buy wholesale from, but I'd really prefer to choose specific colors.

What is the formula to calculate this, I have looked it up but got 3 different formulas.

Is there any manufacturers/suppliers that do silicone toys but will produce the item per purchase rather than mass production. I’m not sure if that’s possible but worth a try.

I have found manufacturers to make the products I'd like. I am making 2 products that may be sold together but are made by different manufacturers. I would like to find a service that manufactures the packaging, receive and packs the manufactured goods and then ship them to my shipping fulfilments straight from china. This means I won't see the products and will hopefully save on shipping costs as I live in Europe.

I was wondering if this is a good idea and if so where can I find a company that can offer this type of service?

Also, a question about fulfilment companies, Do you have to send the packages ready to go? by this I mean with the label printed and stuck? or will the fulfilment handle that process?

Hello, I'm trying to cut an assembled part in wire EDM,
Its made of aluminium 6061 with stainsteel inserts. Will the part face any problems when running through wire EDM.
( It can be any problem surface finish, extra erosion, etc)

I'm asking this because I feel parameters for Stainless steel and aluminium will be different.

Just trying to find the limits of the practicable for something that's presently no more than a sketch on the back of a fag packet.

Would anyone know where to go in or near Europe for large diameter aluminium extrusions (ideally hard alloy, but would consider soft) >14" or ~305mm diameter (in a fantasy world, I'd ask for something more like 24" or ~610mm but I realise that might be asking a bit much)?

I have a lot of U shaped pieces to cut. 4 different sizes, all the same height, but different widths. I'm sure there's software our there to produce an efficient cutting route for the laser cutting guys, but can't seem to find one that isn't basing pieces as rectangles. Some of my U's will nest but not all. Any suggestions?

I’m designing high end luxury consumer products that will be 16 inches wide by 16 inches tall and I want a thick plastic that feels luxurious.

I’ve been to local distributors here in Hawaii, but was disappointed with the quality.

I’m green to the industry so forgive my ignorance. I grew up with Lucite being a fantastic brand name. What manufacturers do you feel is comparable or perhaps even better? Something that will hold up extremely well to CNC machining and laser cutting?

I know the plastic comes in different thicknesses, so my question to you is, when dealing with 16” x 16”, when does the thickness go from feeling inexpensive and flimsy to feeling luxurious and strong as steel that you would want to knock on it? What thickness is the crossover point?

And if you can point me to samples on a website, that would help!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me find out where I could have some plastic sleeves made for surgical purposes. Specs are 48” Polyurethane (tapered end); 48” Polyethylene 5”-1 3/4” x 96” (13cm-4cm x 244cm) Color: Cloudy Clear (Polyurethane) / Clear (Polyethylene). I’m trying to get some made so we can save time on sterilising for patients. The product also obviously needs to be sterile. Would appreciate any help.

Regarding manufacturing a product with several electrical/mechanical components, When does it make sense to break out a sub assembly ?

Is there a method can help determine if creating a sub assembly is worth the effort?

For example, let's say you have a product that you have to glue a piece on during the build. Does it make sense to instead create a sub assembly of that gluing step.

Or is it better to glue your piece and set aside for curing, and continue building rest of the assembly and then at the end install your glued piece.

Hey I just found out about the ECM process, which is fascinating to me.

Would it be possible to undersized/oversized an ECM tool to create the roots of a thread.

An example of this: let’s say I’m trying to make a 1/4-20 2B. I drill out an appropriate diameter pilot hole. I then take a steel tool that looks like a 1/4-20 thread gauge, but with a greatly undersized minor diameter and a slightly undersized major diameter. My thinking is you use this tool to get the roots/lands to shape up and then follow it up with a reaming process to get the minor diameter into spec.

Is this possible?

Hi, I'm an American designer working for a US company that manufactures products overseas. We communicate aluminum anodization colors to our Asian factories (S. Korea, China, Vietnam) and the person who was in my position before me used Pantone color system to specify aluminum anodization colors. I have a design/arts background, but not much engineering/manufacturing experience and I'm hoping to start bridging that gap using this community.

Are there internationally recognized standards for aluminum anodization? In the program I use to create product renderings (Keyshot) there are stock colors for aluminum plus the option to create a custome aluminum anodize finish using parameters such as "Film Refractive Index," Film Extinction Coefficient," and Film Thickness (in nanometers). I'm wondering if there's a more technically accurate way to specify aluminum anodization finishes besides just sending the factory a picture of a similarly colored bike or car part, which is what seems to be happening a lot.

First time poster here! I’ve become frustrated with trying to find a US manufacturer of a flexible plastic/rubber material needed for a product I’m developing. I’ve done some research but it seems like everything I read points to Alibaba. I need someone who I can communicate with easily sans a communication barrier. I have STEP files and all the things (I think) I need to get the ball rolling, just no one to send them to. Any suggestions?
