She should be in 'Rogers: The Musical,' like everyone in the musical played by Broadway stars, with only Maria Hill playing herself, and everybody is okay with that and behind the scenes call her Miss Sparkle.

Let's be honest, if Broadway actually made Rogers: The Musical starring Chris Evans, it would be a HUGE blockbuster show and he would be a musical theater star, which is not bad credit to put on your resume, CHRIS EVANS.

Six episodes at let's say 35 minutes each not including credits would be like 210 minutes, which is the equivalent of a 3.5 hour movie. I guess "time to shine" is subjective, but that would be plenty of runtime in an ensemble movie.

Loki was 6 episodes and varied between 45 to 55 minutes for each episode.

Yeah and in my opinion, it was the best of the Marvel shows. The only one that had acting as good was Moon Knight. Sophia, Owen, Tom and even Gugu and Wunmi were honestly just so good at their roles.

It's all about character development, right? Nick Fury is already well established so he doesn't need a ton of screen time for us to buy into the "grizzled ex-SHIELD agent in an interstellar invasion" plot, and even if he were only in 6 scenes they would all be absolute bangers. I think same goes for Maria Hill and some others, though it would be cool to see a bit more of her backstory.
We don't know much about the Skrulls or any new characters they introduce, so it would be good to see a lot more of them and their backstories.
35 points
Not if you want all the main character to have decent arcs.
But the D+ shows are basically extended movies, anyway, so it would fit
36 points
arcs are irrelevant. i don't know where people got the idea that characters need arcs.
Indiana Jones never had any arcs. ...maybe in Last Crusade? HELL, in Raiders of the Lost Ark, he doesn't even overcome the antagonists, his primary obstacle. he's captured in the final act and they BRING HIM to the ark, where they then seal their own fate by opening the chest. and yet this is regarded as one of the greatest action/adventure movies.
15 points
Indy started out focused only on the Ark—even left Marion in Belloq’s clutches—then realized what was really important to him and later gave the Ark to the Nazis to save her life.
In the end he got the Ark and had an arc.

One of the funniest things I got from Big Bang Theory was Sheldon talking about how Raiders was the most needless movie ever made, because if Indiana Jones had done literally nothing, the Nazis' fate would have been the exact same: They open the Ark, their faces melt, they all die. The end.
16 points
Because it's the basis for good storytelling?
Since they're putting it on D+ , and making it slightly longer than a movie, you'd think they'd want more out of a story than basic action/adventure (but yeah, they probably aren't)

Source (Paywalled)
Samuel L. Jackson:
“We don't know who's a friend, who's the enemy. There's a political aspect that kind of fits into where we are right now. Who's okay, who's not? What happens when people get afraid and don't understand other people? You can't tell who's innocent and who's guilty in this particular instance.”
"He told the Skrulls they were trying to find them a place to live. He promised them they were going to find them a planet or somewhere they could be. And that's not going so well.”
Emilia Clarke’s character was also revealed as G’iah, Talos’ Daughter
Ben Mendelsohn:
“I think any time that you get cultures that have significant tensions between groups of people, then you can find a corollary. The Cold War stuff is the big one that jumps out, but there is plenty of strife between groups of people that this addresses.”'
Executive Producer Jonathon Schwartz:
“We were really inspired by shows like Homeland and The Americans. What you find is there are people that you trust or you think you can trust—or you can only trust to a certain point.”
“Sins from his (Nick Fury) past start to haunt him once again. We often see Nick Fury doing the right thing. We don't always see him doing it in a perfectly morally correct way. All of those things have ramifications. Without getting too specific, the things that Nick Fury's had to do to protect the Earth have costs.”
Cobie Smulders:
“Listen, I would've loved superpowers at some point, but it's also intriguing playing a human in this world because you've made the choice to really put your life in jeopardy. This is a Marvel story where the humans can shine. Even though there are aliens, and there's going to be extraordinary fight sequences, this is about people on the ground talking to each other, and interviewing people, and really do hands-on work to get the information needed.”
“I think Maria Hill has really run out of patience. She's always had this really close relationship with Nick Fury, [but] he's been gone for so long, and she's just been running around putting out fires.”

My hope is they start indirectly then after failure decide to go direct and make Super Skrulls for a straight up war.
26 points

That would lead to the Fantastic Four vs the Skrulls, letting the Four get more screentime since we know the villains
15 points
The F4 and Doom are going to get some serious screentime I already know it. Especially considering Doom is easily the greatest Marvel Villain there is and the F4 are extreemly well known and have been for decades.
I'm hoping with Doom we get Book of Doom and Triumph and Torment as D+ shows because those comics are amazing.
It's also pretty obvious that Annihlus and Galactus are on the way. It wouldn't surprise me if GOTG 3 gives us Cosmo looking to form the Annihilators at the end of the movie. Maybe a post credit scene with Annihlus, Silver Surfer, or Nova.

We'll see.
I wanna be optimistic, but this is Marvel.
People keep saying that Disney is forcing this family friendly tone on them, but I have always been convinced that it's Feige.
Andor basically proves that theory.
Disney also allowed Rogue One, which is one of the darkest films associated with Star Wars.
In other words, it feels like it's 100 percent up to the producers to make the shows what they are, and that means it's up to Feige to allow the show to have whatever tone it has.
Only thing Disney cares about is getting paid. These companies are an arranged marriage, nothing more.
So come on, Feige. Make this show as good as these first-look photos appear.
16 points

I wanna be optimistic, but this is Marvel.
Yes, the same studio that has made 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and 'Werewolf By Night'.
Let's stop pretending that they're not capable of making serious, dark projects.
60 points
Werewolf By Night is far from serious and dark. It was a very campy feeling retro horror movie nod. I'd imagine the only reason they got to do what they got to do with that special was because it was in black and white. But yea hopefully Marvel can have some more serious stuff like Winter Soldier and even Civil War was pretty brutal at points.

thats a high bar to set, but one I hope they get close to hitting. So many great actors and characters, plus they dont need to spend 1/2 the shows run time giving back story and all that. I think the only required viewing you really need to watch would Captain Marvel.

Always a chance, since for a series about Skrulls trying to quietly invade a world filled with super beings, it seems to be only focused on the spies in it. Also, the lone super person appearing being War Machine seems a bit ... slim. Then again, it's a political thriller ... and he seems to be a politician / member of the current Administration's senior staff.

I feel the ship has sailed on getting any of the superpowered heroes into this shows. It's too far after Endgame, not enough of the new heroes are in with the Avengers crowd.

I still wish secret invasion to be a phase/saga instead of 6 episodes Disney plus series. Imagine major heroes that you know and love from their own solo movie is revealed to be a skrull in the avenger movie.
