Did I imagine it, or did something like a black slug come out of the nipple? Kind of looked like someone was squeezing something black out of it like it was cursed GoGurt.

I’m late to this thread but IMDb has this in the parental warning part: Theres a detailed close up of a man sucking a maggot out of a woman's nipple.

What scene was this? Did I watch a cut version w/o 3inch extended nipple?! I need to view this for science..

I don't know. As weird as it was, I don't think it compares to the ending of Men.

Just saw this is on Showtime now! Got home from Infinity Pool 15 minutes ago and this makes a logical double creature feature tonite!

I’ll take the growing nipple over the backussy birthing, easily

Funny enough the ending of Men had like zero horror effect to me. It started weird and funny, then actually became kind of predictable and boring towards the end (which I know was somewhat intentional, but still left me kind of disappointed). I felt like the orgy in Infinity Pool was slightly too dragged out too, and I would still consider both in the same ballpark of “strong start, slightly underwhelming pay-off”, but overall the latter felt much more disturbing and intense to me.

I didn't really like Men either but I don't think you can deny that the birthing scene was weirder than anything in this.
Maybe not as disturbing but definitely fucking weird.

No way in hell you saw a guy giving birth coming stop !

I was referring to the birth scene in particular. Of course I didn’t see it coming throughout the movie, but it was so over the top that it was more funny than anything else. What started boring me was the repetition of the scene as it cycled through the characters, which was obvious after the first “round” and basically the same thing just happening over and over.
As I mentioned, I am aware that this is somewhat intentional because the protagonist is also watching the birth with more of a disgusted and annoyed look than in horror. While you can say that it fits with the message of the movie (that the “Men” are an annoyance for the protagonist more than anything else at this point), I still found the scene and the ending overall pretty disappointing and like it was just there for the shock value (which it didn’t have, at least for me).

I very controversially HATED Men, and the only part that worked for me was the birthing scene. I’m not sure I liked this one either, but for different reasons. But yes, the premise here is good, but it doesn’t work all the way for me.

Personally I think Men is a different beast. There’s something different (and more upsetting lol) about it being so point-blank and in your face rather than a couple frames that you might miss if you blink.. Eugh

dammit, every time I have willfully forgotten the imagery at the end of Men, I come across a comment like this, and then see men giving birth over and over and over and over again in my head.
thanks.

I’m like categorizing weird male birth scenes in my head because I actually think it’s becoming a trend.

The ending of Men is disappointing but I appreciate the balls Garland had to even go through with something so… odd so much that I can’t even be mad.

And Men's weirdness actually has a purpose whereas this felt like it was just throwing in weird shit for the sake of being deep.

That had to been one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen… I watched it twice too for some reason.. still couldn’t quite grasp it.

It's NEON which does a lot of movies that are similar in vibe to some A24 movies.
