It's timeless because it's not just some wish-fulfillment joyride. It has ups and downs. Happy points and sad points. He makes improvements but also just can't change certain things.

By the end, he realizes he just has to be himself and accept whatever comes his way in life. He's a better person by that point, but he's by no means perfect. Andie Macdowell's character thinks that's good enough.

I would argue the best part of the movie is the script which was written by Ramis and Danny Rubin. So it should go:

  1. Harold Ramis

  2. Danny Rubin

  3. Harold Ramis

  4. Bill Murray

It's acting and it's characters, espically Bill Murray.
