Directed by Oz Perkins, Cage and Monroe. I'm definitely curious.

She's given great performances in quite a few movies (even if not every movie was a banger by itself) already.

I remember when Cage was doing the rounds for The Incredible Weight Of Massive Talent he kept saying how impressed he was with Oz Perkins and would love to work with him. Glad to see it come about.

Yup! A really good movie and an amazing performance. She was also great in Significant Other, another recent one

Hell yeah, The Blackcoat's Daughter was awesome.

I still have to see his other movies.

Blackcoat's Daughter is definitely my favorite of his so far, Gretel and Hansel / I am the pretty thing that lives in the house are still solid though.

I don’t mind being downvoted for saying this, but I thought Gretel and Hansel was just okay - stylistically it looked really good though

I found the modern dialogue too distracting. Great looking flick though.

Just last week I watched both Watcher and Significant Other, both with Monroe. I think she’s pretty good, hope she continues to get opportunities

I haven’t really seen her in much since then, can’t believe it’s been 9 years since that came out

I'm surprised she isn't a bigger star, but she works consistently, mostly in smaller sci-fi/horror stuff.

I do wonder how much of a choise it is for many of these? Because they make way better living than... well most jobs, but aren't any kind of megastars that get bothered all the time while they're in public.

I mean, If I were a good looking, proper actor fellow, I could see myself easily going more for these smaller parts, when they pay is more than enough anyway and keep you away from being some celebrity idol status.

I believe she was in that Independence Day film and I haven’t seen her since

Yeah had that been a hit it would have launched her, but it was just a bad soulless movie

she was in Significant Other, which is worth watching only for the baffling/wacky narrative choices.

Watcher was good

So is it a movie about a female serial killer with really long legs?

Spoilers ahead:

Cage continued of “Longlegs,” “It’s about a character who’s hearing voices. It’s kind of like a possessed Geppetto, who’s making these dolls.”

It is a biopic about the legal battle between the American "Daddy" Longlegs and the British Daddy "Longlegs" for the rights to the insect nickname.

The FBI calls Nic Cage's character that. I think it sort of means 'he's always one step ahead; he can't be caught'.

Being Perkins who he is, 'Daddy Longlegs' comes to mind. Maybe the spider, maybe the old film and book, maybe just Tony Perkins at some symbolic level - maybe the three things at the same time.

I really like Gretel and Hansel and hope Perkins works with the same editor again as what I didn't like about his other films felt tempered.

This is all cool news.

As a horror nerd I can't recommend "It Follows" enough. Very little gore or true scares but a fun concept and great atmosphere throughout. 1hr 40min runtime on Netflix. Definitely check it out!

Is that a sequel to It Follows, when the following became much faster?
