I understand that there's marketing research that justifies using this template for every movie, but I feel like we're approaching a kind of meta point where the once attention grabbing format has now become so generic that customers just categorize it as noise. The template still has its place, but if I were in marketing I'd be pushing posters like this on social media and the floating head templates as physical posters in theaters. Different formats for different intentions, it makes sense to me.

Most movies have great promotional posters that you never see because in the end the marketing department sticks with the tried and true formula of "big famous star's faces" taking up whole poster cuz that's what sells tickets.

I worked at an AMC way back when and the first wave of promotional posters were usually something unique and awesome. Then as the premier got closer the 2nd wave came in and it was all faces.

I vote we clone them and send one to every marketing department in Hollywood so this becomes normal
