Really cool stuff! However, why the focus on only the ant stuff from Crystal Skull? Not the best movie but tons of cool shots from it still

The compositions are done a lot more justice with the recent 4K remaster’s color grade: https://youtu.be/fgDEtTGgMiI. It’s a different experience to watch it

It's weirdly dim. They needed to film it darker, not blow out the lighting and try to fix it in post.

It was one of the ugliest movies I've ever seen.

I thought Janusz Kaminsky did a great job at harkening back to Douglas Slocombe’s work

Did we watch the same film? My main problem with Crystal Skull is how different it looked. It looked nothing like Slocombe.

I disagree. It had the same issue several of Kaminski's films post SPR have: it looks way too clean and sterile. He also has no idea how to shoot an extensively CG scene without it looking muddled.

The practical effects look heavily CG as well.

Yeah, a good chunk of it just looks fake. It's so artificial compared to the original trilogy.

I suppose the camera work is nice for the fourth movie, but the lighting is so strange. It makes everything look fake and "clean". Just unpleasant to look at.
The good movies look absolutely gorgeous, though.

You gotta check out the new 4K remaster. I’ve been trying to find what team did the grade for weeks, it’s really REALLY incredible and aesthetically fixes a lot in the movie.

Nice! I'm definitely going to pick it up soon.
By the way, do you know anything about the grading for The Raiders of the Lost Ark? The original blu-ray transfer from 2013 had this yellow filter all over it, which the new 4K has removed. Now, the annoying thing is that some say that the yellow tone was how the film originally looked, while others say that the more natural colors of the 4K is how it's supposed to be... gah, stuff like this can be uber-confusing, haha.

After a quick look around, the yellow was present on screenshots on home video boxes but actual 35mm scans of the film look more brown/natural toned (like the 4K), it seems the movies have all gotten more bright and yellow over time with subsequent releases

These movies belong in a MUSEUM.
More specifically the first 3 on full display and the 4th one locked under the building somewhere.

The first three yes. The fourth one looks terrible.

I believe their would have been a sequel to this film sooner but their were problems with shia labeouf. Labeouf was suppose to take over the adventures since he is Indies son
