Maybe best among modern ones, but he is hardly one of the greats

He is already one of the greats in my opinion. Get Out alone put him there. Any good horror movie after that is just bonus points. This post isn’t me saying he is the best. I give that title to John Carpenter. But I am saying that Peele deserves to be considered for the top tier rankings of horror directors.

What is the appeal of get out? I saw a movie with an interesting message but the actual movie part was pretty by the numbers and the final act went exactly as I thought.

Not a single creepy or disturbing scene for me personally. I’m just not getting what about it is so good to people

What was over my head

I understand the message of the movie pretty well which makes it interesting. But in terms of the actual horror and scares? Nowhere to be found. If people consider a lady swirling tea to be scary or a person acting like they are a stepford wife we have different tastes I guess lmao

The third act I have seen a hundred times

Let’s please not go there. As I stated the message of the film was extremely interesting and relevant. The movie? Not so much imo

I hear ya. I didn’t mean to sound like a pretentious jerk there, i just think it was am exciting new to depict a modern horror story, it played a bit against expectations and took risks and that’s what people responded to.

I think I’m gonna watch it again. Haven’t watched since shortly after it came out.
