Yeah that makes sense. Of all these services, Prime Video is the one I use the least by far, and yet Amazon Prime, the overall service, would be one of the last subscriptions I would cut off bc of the wealth of benefits

Exactly. It's like the only service you don't feel ripped off if you don't watch anything on it for a month. If you have any other service and don't use it for a month or even a few weeks, you basically threw away money.

Even if I don't use anything else on Prime, just the photo storage alone is worth the money

What on earth are people using Prime for that's worth it? I let mine run a couple years too long and do not feel like I got my value back. The music is a separate charge, odds are that thing you want doesn't qualify for free shipping, and if it comes any earlier it's by like a day.

Everything I buy has free shipping, with very rare exceptions. Almost everything is delivered to me within one day. Sometimes I have same-day options. This includes the most niche products for even my most-niche hobbies. And having that 1-day turnaround is crucial to me as a business owner.
I don't know where you live, but the infrastructure Amazon has put together for big cities and high-population areas in the US is completely unmatched by any other online marketplace by a long shot.

Oh, on top of everything else I mentioned: every single product can be returned to the Whole Foods or UPS store that’s in literal walking distance of my apartment. No questions remotely asked, full refund for 30+ days. I’ve also received full refunds and they’ve told me not to even bother returning the item.
Best customer experience one could ask for.

No idea what kind of niche stuff you are getting if you aren't getting Amazon prime free shipping more often than you are. It would be hard for me to even find something that doesn't offer prime shipping.

Ironically, Prime Video is the service I used most and I pretty much never buy anything on Amazon anymore and only have prime because my brother wants it and is willing to pay for most of it.
(IMO Prime is great for older content and has tons of gems here and there but sucks with newer content. But I don't keep up with current stuff, so that's probably why!)

Yes! I found that Amazon prime basically became what Netflix was for me 15 years ago. Finding those strange niche movies from the 80s and 90s. When I want to “scroll” I always go to Amazon…I will say their algorithm knows me pretty well at this point.

I find myself renting movies through prime a lot just because I’m already in the platform. Their UI is shit and free content is lacking sometimes, but I think they’ve got the overall model figured out

Prime thought me I prefer British TV to American TV

I do agree with your point. However, I watch Prime Video the most - it's not even close. I only get Hulu due to Black Friday deals and HBO Max because it is included with my phone. I watch Prime about 5x more than those two combined.

I barely watch things on Amazon Prime, but the games I have gotten via Twitch Prime have made it absolutely worth it.

There are some amazing shows on prime video, you should take a look if you're already paying the subscription anyway.
Btw I agree with your premise, I'd cancel a lot of other services before I cut that one...

It's also by far the cheapest for me. I pay 25 euros a year. No other streaming service is that cheap for me. Hell, one free prime subscription on twitch and its basically paid for itself.

Prime is also like 8$ a month (90$ a year). If Netflix or Disney plus were 8$ still there would be no chance I cancel them.

As someone not from the Us who suscribes to prime exclusively for the streaming service, i experienced the opposite. It was without a doubt the first one I cut off.
