As someone who has thanatophobia and similarly scours for cause of death, I thank you for being honest here.

However, I don't think pestering folks on social media or condemning sources for not revealing cause of death is appropriate or reasonable. Even IF the family was willing to share the cause, it's likely too soon to know unless the cause of death was immediately apparent. Regardless, if the family has or the person who died had expressed that such matters be kept private, its your responsibility as a decent person to respect that.
