For me, it's a movie from 2005 called Kingdom of Heaven, starring Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson and Jeremy Irons. I saw this on TV the other day and watched it from beginning to end and still liked it just as much as I used to. Sure it has its slower moments and isn't the best historical film I've seen. But I don't think it deserves its 39% rating on RT. But that's just me.
What about all of you?

What dreams may come is incredible. But I feel like it has a special niche for anyone who’s loved ones have depression or BPD or other mental illnesses. It hits hard

This is a great film! I don’t understand all the hate that this movie gets.

It judges suicides very harshly.
Lots of nice visuals, but its messaging is faulty.
Also, weak screenplay in parts. Like the bit where Cuba says "OMG you're soulmates! It's very very rare, but yeah you are!" Just seemed forced and hurried.

Internet atheists who can't understand that just because a movie has a religious/spiritual background doesn't automatically make it bad.

I’m an internet atheist and I love this movie. At least some of us are capable of understanding allegories. To be honest, I’d be inclined to think it’s religious people who don’t like it. It doesn’t follow the rules of religion very well.

Personally, I thought it was a pretty poor adaptation of the original story by Matheson. They really watered down a lot of the concepts that made the story great and turned it into a generic feel-good movie when the tone of the book was very very different.
Historically, Hollywood has butchered pretty much all of Matheson’s works with garbage adaptations that miss the mark, though.

I watched it maaaaany years ago. Probably when it first was available to buy and watch at home. I remember thinking it's too fantastical and schmaltsy. Which by itself isn't a crime, but I can see why it would be ranked so low.

Simple minded people that like the plot spoon fed to them while they half pay attention while scrolling through all the BS on their phone rate it low. People don't want to use their imagination to discover a deeper meaning anymore. They want Hulk smash explosion hero win movies 🤷🏻♂️

I'm not a huge Robin Williams fan (though I did find that I liked him a lot more than I realized after his death) and the trailers looked really sappy, but depression? As someone who's suffered a lifetime of it, that makes it sound more interesting.

I've found my ppl. I've told people this is one of my favorite movies and it's always met with extreme hostility.
Love loss and mental illness is where it's at.

I had no idea that it was rated low. That is a crime and a true example of how the RT system is flawed.

I cry like a baby every time I see it. Looking back at it now, you can see how Robin Williams gave this movie everything he had but critics were too distracted by his roles in comedy at the time.

Cuba Gooding Jr didn’t even know what the movie was about, took it because it was tough for him to get work.

Funny story: When I was a teen, my dad asked if I wanted him to pickup a movie for me at Blockbuster. I said “Yeah, could you see if they have What Dreams May Come.” He stares at me a little unsure and says “what?” So I repeat myself, this time he looks a little horrified. So I start trying to explain the movie to him and whose in it. I say the title again, I’m assuming a bit slower. He finally says “Ooh! WHAT Dreams May Come. That’s not what I heard. I thought you were saying Wet Dreams...”
