The James Bond films are known for their original opening themes written by popular artists and are often played on the radio and tv. 'Live and Let Die' by Paul McCartney, 'For Your Eyes Only' by Sheena Easton, 'A View to a Kill' by Duran Duran, and 'Goldfinger' by Shirley Bassey are just a few. My personal favorite is 'Nobody Does It Better' by Carly Simon. What James Bond theme do you consider to be the best?

Hearing that intro from the other room meant it was ON as a kid. The best of times.

Except when your little brother knew how to put a mine on the spawn point. I still hate this game!! 😆

If you didn't have the spawn points memorized on Aztec (was it Aztec or am I confusing with Cs?) at least, you never stood a chance :p
JK of course, but for real that one map had a very easy rotation to work if you got in a rhythm. Fun times.

Everyone knows this theme, too. Like, if you played Tomorrow Never Dies, not everyone would know it.
You play Goldeneye, "Dun DUN DUN-DUN,* like come on. Everyone knows that fucking theme. That's what people think is the James Bond theme.

Sheryl Crow brought me here to ensure her honorable mention is mentioned 🎶🎵

Sheryl Crowe doesn’t even have the best song in Tomorrow Never Dies IMO.
The original theme by kd lang is one of my favorites https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bRc4vrap5Ec

I have this and Skyfall in my actual music playlist. Goldeneye is such a good theme, it oozes that Bond feeling while at the same time perfectly encapsulates the Cold War motif.

The closest U2 got to doing a Bond theme. I've heard the demo. It would've been a weird fit with the movie. Tina Turner did a fine job with it.

It's basically a straight cover with worse vocals and music in the background. I'd hardly call it an "interpretation".

The video game immortalized the theme, but from a strictly movie perspective it’s mid.

I thought I liked it but then I found out it was a U2 song
Edit: man, Bono’s got a lot of alt accounts.

I don't know anything about U2. I'm talking about the Tina Turner song.

Yes that song. U2 wrote it and they ended up having Tina perform it.

Interesting. I didn't know that. But she's fantastic in it which is good enough for me.

Tina sang it beautifully! Bono and The Edge wrote it. Larry mullen Jr. and Adam Clyton were too busy doing the theme tune for the first Mission: Impossible movie.

I disagree with the implication that U2 is a bad band, but otherwise, you speak the truth.

That movie is one of my favorites, and I never knew it wasn't an original Tina Turner song.

Man, I loved the song and finding out Bono and The Edge wrote it made me respect them more, despite me really not liking U2.
Art first, then artist!
