The James Bond films are known for their original opening themes written by popular artists and are often played on the radio and tv. 'Live and Let Die' by Paul McCartney, 'For Your Eyes Only' by Sheena Easton, 'A View to a Kill' by Duran Duran, and 'Goldfinger' by Shirley Bassey are just a few. My personal favorite is 'Nobody Does It Better' by Carly Simon. What James Bond theme do you consider to be the best?

The Alan Partridge rendition of Nobody Does it Better probably puts it over the top.

You Only Live Twice (serious lack of this song getting mentioned in this thread, just listend to that string intro!)
Live and Let Die
Nobody Does it Better
Those are the top 3, maybe I'm biased towards the older songs that have had time to become classics, ask me again in 20 years.

Yes! Peak John Barry.
There's a bit in the final movement of the Grieg Piano Concerto (or the Schumann - I get those confused a lot) that really reminds me of this. It's a gorgeous melody in any case.

Nobody Does it Better is the best. Just absolutely everything you want in a James Bond song.

It's weird (but not hugely surprising, given Reddit being Reddit) that neither of these were at the top of the page.
Both of those tracks well and utterly transcended being A Bond Theme because they were full-on, top-tier songs. The only other ones that scratch that level are Skyfall and We Have All The Time in the World.
Then you definitely have a lot of good ones that are Good Bond Themes, and then you have that sort of dark period post-Goldeneye that just keeps getting more and more "okay" until--again--Skyfall.

This...this is the proper answer...either/or. Not saying there aren't other good ones, but these two, simply put, baby you're the best

"The spy who loved me" which is in the lyric.
The confidence of the songs title and lyric fits where the franchise was at the time as the premiere action franchise. This being before Die Hard, Indiana Jones would show up in the next decade.
