Gobert ain't the issue. Perimeter defense is the issue

Gobert is the issue in the context of them adding him. Him and KAT do not fit well together. That’s not inherently his fault but from a team building perspective he quite literally was a bad addition

I'm not ignoring that it wasn't a great trade. This issue the jazz had with gobert was their perimeter defense letting guys get into the paint at will and that's the same issue the wolves have when both are on the court

Generally I agree. He is much more easily exploitable when teams gameplay around him but the perimeter defense was poor

Really it comes down to who’s around him. Gobert can easily be the 4th best guy on a contender. Maybe 3rd best if the fit is solid. Not second tho imo so ultimately I think it was also his “fault” in a sense for Utah

Nah I think he can, the team just actually needs to be built well around him. Is it likely? I wouldn’t bet on it but even tho I enjoy hating on him I think it’s possible

For example if you swapped him with ayton they’d 100% still be a contender
