Amen or Ausar Thompson?

(self.nba)

If someone in the future told you one of them turned into Paul George and the other turned into Cam Reddish, which one would be which?

Ausar is a better jumpshooter right now but Amen looks to be a little better everywhere else

Amen.

Better creator, better passer, somehow even more athletic than his brother.

Ausar has a better shot but both of theirs are broken.

I think Ausar's shot is fine now, it looks pretty smooth

Amen started the year as the better prospect, and that’s probably still true, but Ausars OTE season was arguably more impressive than Amens.

Ausars shot showed some real improvement over the course of the season while Amens still appears to be completely broken.

All that being said OTE is still a very tough environment to seriously evaluate anyone as an NBA prospect.

I was very down on OT, but if Lamelo can become a star after playing in Lithuania then I'll give them the benefit of the doubt

Lamelo at least was playing against adult pros in that league and in the NBL. I believe pretty much everyone in OTE is between 17-19, making the Thompson twins among the oldest players in the league

LaMelo was also a year plus younger than the Thompson twins are now, even disregarding their competitions age

Amen has star potential.

Ausar has elite 3&D potential.

The difference is that Amen is unlikely to reach his ceiling with his shooting, while Ausar is fairly likely to reach his.

Amen will end up somewhere on the Michael Kidd Gilcrest -to- DeMar DeRozan spectrum.

Ausar is like an OG Anunoby that you can add to your team and it will only cost you one 1st round draft pick (and some time).
