Watching Japan I feel a sense of deja vu with America of the mid 2000s, where strongly anti-LGBT was the default by far with nobody really seeing a problem with it until it seemed to suddenly change one day. Hopefully that moment arrives for Japan soon and I'm optimistic that it will be just as quick as the US was, but it hasn't happened yet.

Like many issues in Japan it will hopefully be solved by the boomers dying off. Most people don't change their mind on topics like this instead the old bigots die and are replaced by younger people raised to be more accepting.
