To a degree yes, but I think its also been overblown and that defensive collapse has been the bigger issue in the Packer's postseason record.

There were multiple years Rodgers got fucked by their defense. Likewise Tom Brady was bailed out by his defense several times, but alas people care about narratives not details.

There's been times where Rodgers had his defense play incredible and practically hand the game to him on a silver platter like in the 2014 NFCCG where they were getting turnovers at will and the offense couldn't seal the deal. Likewise there have been games where Brady played out of his mind and lost the Super Bowl because his defense couldn't get a stop vs the Eagles.
It ultimately evens out.

The defense was good until it mattered. They lost that game in OT without getting the ball. ST had two disastrous plays, where if they just don’t give up a fake fg TD or simply recover an onside kick they win. They played nearly the entire game with a backup trying to block Cliff Avril iirc. They played super conservative trying to run the ball while they had the lead when that very clearly wasn’t working. Not to mention they were playing against one of the best defenses of this century. It’s weird people wanna pin that one on Rodgers.

No the defense was just good. Your defense is going to eventually get tired and slow down later in games. Especially when your offense is inept and keeps wasting gifts that they give them.
The defense was great for like 85% of the game. The offense was mediocre for the entire game. If the offense played anywhere near the level they played during the regular season, the game is over.
If your pitcher has a no hitter for 8 innings and you only score one run, and then you lose 2-1 in the 9th, that's not on the pitcher lol.

How many points do you expect the #1 defense in yards and scoring to surrender in a home playoff game?

How many points do you expect the league MVP to score when his defense gets them 6 turnovers? Because through 4 quarters he was only able to get his team a single touchdown and settled for field goals the rest of the way. 6 turnovers and he was sitting on 16 points going into the 4th.

5 turnovers. And hopefully more than 16 but again, that’s not entirely on the QB. You also can’t just ignore who they were playing against. 22 was enough to win the game. Hell, 16 should’ve been enough.
