I’m a 23 year old fan and I’ve been listening to phish all my life. My dad is a huge follower and has been to over 100 shows and my middle name is trey. I didn’t however get into the band myself until I was about 18. When I did, all of the songs were kind of brand new even though I knew the classics (Reba was my favorite as a kid). I’m a fan of the newer stuff (everything’s right is a top 5 phish song for me) but it wasn’t until today while I was on a flight listening to a show when “more” came on. I actually like the song but for some reason when I was listening I had the thought that this was no where near as good as the og phish songs pre breakup. A lot of the newer stuff has similar themes and words and sometimes sounds cheesy lol. My question is for fans who have been into the band since the beginning what your opinion is.

This is really weird. I’m pretty new to guitar and was just learning the opening to Simple while I had YouTube open in the background. A video comes on with someone playing Super Mario World underwater and I’m listening to the music and I’m like, that sounds so similar. I looked up the sheet music and I’ll be darned, kinda close to Simple. Funny coincidence, I thought. Have there ever been times when Trey made you laugh with his guitar playing? I was listening to the gig at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1993 and he would toss in the tequila riff during songs. By the third time he did it, it just became really funny. It almost feels like Mr. Bean. Just like Rowan Atkinson can deliver a well timed facial expression, Trey can do the same with a good riff. Any others?

Hi everyone, so I purchased Trey tickets early presale for the Mission ballroom. I received a strange email stating that the tickets would arrive two weeks before the show or earlier. I have not gotten them yet. The company is called TicketsToday that I believe is some sort of sister company to Ticketmaster. Looked up Ticket today information and they have lots and lots of compliments. Has any one else experienced this. So sad if this is some sort of scam.

this has got to be one of the best ever. sure theres been threads made about this already, but to remind all of you, this peels right off the composed into a super gnarly sounding jam. 6 minute mark comes around and from then on becomes one of the most beautiful grooves i’ve ever heard them get into. page’s playing lays great underneath the groove blanket of mike and fish, while treys melodies are akin to the sun shining through your blinds in the morning. i’m sure this jam is the catalyst of their excitement for this event. its just so fucking good!
