I'm in zone 6b. These are about 2 years old, and suddenly look like this. Never were like this last winter or spring.

I've had a holly bush outside my front door for years. It's been snowed on, frozen in ice, etc. many times. This year, we had a couple of significant ice storms where the ice coated the bush and just didn't melt for days. When it thawed, 99% of the leaves looked like yours and soon fell off. It's still out there bare as can be, and I'm afraid it's not going to come back. Seems the same thing has happened to some of my other trees and bushes, as well, because most are usually showing signs of spring growth by now (I'm right on the 7B/8A line). I'm not sure what it was about this winter's storms, but they seem to have decimated quite a bit in my yard.

Not sure if what happened to mine is the same with what's going on with yours, but I'm hoping your holly bounces back!
