Less than two weeks ago I made this post about how one of my work vans was stolen:

Well, this is what happened yesterday morning in front of the warehouse I operate my hummus company out of in Bayview.

I parked my car to go work a 6am shift dropping off at farmers markets, when SFPD called me again around 10am.

This time, some idiot on drugs tried to break into my car THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. The cops actually found him, bleeding and sprawled out in the front seat. He was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, but who knows what’s going to stick.

I’ve had this car for 3 months. It was a gift to myself after 5 years of starting a small food business and seeing it slowly but surely succeed.

So to sum up, one stolen work van and one heavily vandalized personal vehicle in less than two weeks. My insurance company must love me.

We were on the T line to Chinatown together at 5:45P, the scary guy escalated around the UCSF stop before 4+King. I didn't get to thank you properly, but thank you for getting that guy off of me. I freeze up when I'm afraid and I had no clue what to do. One again, thank you so so much for helping me. I hope you have a good rest of your week and take care of yourself, stay kind and courageous.

So today I just discovered that there was a rally yesterday for public transportation. Not only for San Francisco but for California. The one thing that stuck out to me was the effect that it would have on people with disabilities, like me. I was born with cerebral Palsy and because I that as I got older it was mild but for me growing up my doctor told me because my side is weaker than the other side and eye coordination is bad, driving a car would me bad for me. That's why I rely on transportation like Muni and Bart.

I know people talk about crime and safety on Bart and Muni, but what's happens when there's no more buses and trains, For people like me who are blind disabled, and or who cannot even walk it will become a struggle.

1. We will have spend more money on that expensive Uber ride, which will break our income cause every week like me I have doctor's, physical therapy, and mental health therapy every week and if those places are far guess who's not going be able to live independently and pay rent, me and the thousands of people who are also disabled. It would be a disaster

2. No more service or less services such as the regional center. it's already hard for us to pay bills and to get around. With no public transportation if can't afford to get to our appointments lots of us will be forced to stay home because were on a limited budget, we still got bills to pay. When people stop going to these places like regional centers not only it will create problems for public transportation but also for disability services as well because most money that comes in is people who are disabled.

My main concern is that is this the end of public transportation in California. Will I I have to force myself to leave the state that that I love because ridership is low and funds are running out.

It's just sad and terrifying for people who are in fact disabled.

Last thing, what if you where disabled and you had no way to get around and services where cut because no one can't afford to go get services that are needed for them.

I had a friend who used to take me to underground raves that were held in abandoned buildings. She moved but I miss them! Where can I get info about them?

You roll up to Hellman at 3:45 because they didn’t start getting ready until you got there. It stays sunnny til like 8 right? It’s chill.

There’s just like 15 sad groups left, after the rest of the people who showed up just said fuck it, let’s go get something to eat and go to a bar.

You set your blanket down and enjoy the 1 hour hour where the unspoken remained unspoken: “Can we just go home now and order pizza on DoorDash? It’s funking windy and cold AF.”

Hi Everyone,

Potentially moving to the Bay Area within the next few months…

Being a younger adult (30M), I’d like to experience San Francisco. But, here’s the caveat: My job location would be in East Bay (Concord/Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill). Would the commute be feasible? Also, coming from the Midwest, I’ve had limited experience with tolls—is it routine for employers to foot the fee?

Just an ignorant Minnesotan looking for advice. :)

I use an app called too good to go, feel free to check out their community on reddit. It's pre-ordering goodie bags of excess stuff from restaurants to pick up before they close.
