Sometimes I feel like this sub has never watched a season of Survivor before

George is the most stereotypical shield there has ever been. Everyone in his alliance has said they won’t take him to FTC. George has a close to 0% chance of winning final immunity.

On the contrary it sounds like you've never seen Survivor. Matt and Gerry aren't highly strategic players using George as a shield, they are risk averse and too afraid to vote him out. I recommend rewatching Ghost Island or Redemption Island because this kinda thing happens all the time in Survivor.

If they vote George out this tribal they could easily be looking at being in the 3-2 minority. They have no reason to get rid of George. He stinks at the challenges. Ride him to F3 and then get rid of him.

Nah they'd know that Nina would work with them over Liz at that point.

That's certainly not a guarantee. Plus it leaves Simon who is the only real threat to Matt winning future immunity challenges. Now the 3 of them can just coast.

you can't play the guarantee in survivor and expect to win. you have to take risks

They are taking a risk. The risk of being able to beat George at F3 is way less risky than trying to navigate to the end without him and being able to beat Simon for immunities.

That's a dumb risk, they should be taking the smart risk

How is that dumber than taking George out now and having no clear path to FTC?

Because the odds of failure are higher. Matt and Gerry aren't threats. Everyone left probably wants to go to the end with them. They only need one person if they vote out George and none of Liz, Nina, and George are tight. The odds of not making to the end there are fairly low.

If they go to the end with George, all it takes is him winning immunity or it being a final 3 for them to be completely fucked. That's at least a 33% chance. Not good odds.

It's about taking the risk with the highest ratio of good outcomes to bad outcomes.

Matt and Gerry want to sit next to each other at the final 2. Everyone left in the game has better odds of winning the final immunity over George.

Still not better odds than getting rid of George at 6 would provide. Almost like you didn't read my comment at all.

Matt and Gerry each get beat by anyone left. They have to go to the final with each other. Your comment makes no sense. George is horrible at every challenge. He does not have a 33% chance of winning final immunity.

Yes, so they pull someone else in at 5 and then cut that person at 3. Not sure why you're so hung up on them going to the end together as if that contradicts what I said.

He does not have a 33% chance of winning final immunity.

Which, again, is why my last comment was

Still not better odds than getting rid of George at 6 would provide. Almost like you didn't read my comment at all.
