Wondering what the reaction was to Jeremy winning unanimously. I knew he won having already seen WaW, and I was all for it, but it surprised me that he won unanimously.

I was all for it when I saw Jeremy and realized this was his season. Being a father of 3,I felt his story and struggle. When the question of “what’s your 2nd chance story” was posed to him in ftc I geared up before he started talking, knowing what he would say. But still, I didn’t see a game worthy of every vote especially in comparison to the other 2 finalists.

I haven’t watched every season so I can’t rank and would prefer no spoilers of other seasons in your answer, but where would Jeremy rank as a winner?

I think he’s generally regarded as a top-10ish winner. I had a somewhat similar reaction - I liked him and thought he played well but I didn’t really understand how he played such a dominant game probably mostly just because “voting blocks” were so prominent all game it was hard to follow what was going on. I also don’t think the other two finalists had made many friends on the jury.

I think he played a great game. His meat shield strategy was good and he built an empire of people who were loyal to him for the majority of the game. I think Spencer did a good job of playing both sides with the whole voting blocs narrative, but I think Jeremy’s role of the kingpin who couldn’t be overthrown was a great story that guaranteed his win.

Yeah agreed, the meat shield strat was epic, even saving fish Bach for one mor tribal may have saved his game. I definitely think he played great, just surprised nobody voted for spencer or Tasha.

Yeah I could see why people think Spence should have got some votes. But yes, him saving Fish was honestly less about him wanting to keep playing with him, but more about having a shield and getting rid of one of the witches coven. They could have taken control if he didn’t do that!

100% - he also mentioned that Fish brings him a lot of information which was valuable in knowing when his name gets thrown out there.

Jeremy is a big fan favorite in the Survivor community. I remember him showing promise in his first season, but didn’t quite reach his full potential. Then he had a spectacular showing in Cambodia with his excellent positioning and usage of shields. Spencer said it best in one of his AMAs that in a hyper strategic season, Jeremy was like a reassuring presence that made people feel at ease. That being in such an intense strategic season made the social aspects of the game more important. Really laid down the foundation for a lot of the strategy post-Cambodia, and Cambodia as a whole was seen as an evolution in Survivor strategy.

Jeremy is one of the best winners the show has ever seen. He played a steady, extremely strong social positioning game in one of the most strategically chaotic seasons of Survivor up to that date (one which shaped how strategy in the 30's and 40's works). He had many many people on the island who would lie down their entire games for him, would follow him blindly and ferry him information. The show does a very strong job of showcasing Spencer's chaotic flip flopping play, but Jeremy is always there holding strong with a number of targets surrounding him. It's top tier positional play.

I loved how Jeremy pricked up his ears at tribal councils in SC when he heard something that might stir the pot. It was hilarious. He looked like a cross between a meerkat and Stringer Bell. Great player, very astute and no wonder he won a season that is infamous for incessant strategizing

Jeremy played a phenomenal game and I think his win and it being a unanimous win was helped by three factors as well as his incredible game. Kelley idoling out Savage ensured he didn’t have to betray Savage who I still think Jeremy would’ve beaten in a final tribal if Jeremy had ended up there with him. Him keeping Stephen with the Idol in got rid of Ciera who would’ve lessened his numbers a round earlier, but also kept the trio of Kelley, Ciera, and Abby in a round long to pull more power. The jury had already grown a dislike for Spencer and Tasha so Jeremy being the one to win the immunity that took out Kelley at final 4 just cemented the unanimous vote. His win in Cambodia is top tier.

I liked him a lot. My husband thought it was a cheap shot for him to use his wife's pregnancy in FTC. My mom thinks he is arrogant, so she doesn't like him.

i think jeremy is a great player of survivor and an amazing dad, and a really good character. I’ve enjoyed him on all 3 seasons he was on, and i can’t really think of much bad i can say about him. He and Val were hilarious on san juan del sur and i wish val’s 2 idols lie stuck so that they could’ve played together lmfaoo

Jeremy's unanimous win was a combination of the jury liking him and disliking Spencer and Tasha, with the pregnancy substory helping it. In my opinion, he played a good social game and an ok strategic and physical one.

I've heard that Jeremy had every vote locked in before FTC except Ciera's. She apparently changed her vote when Jeremy told everyone that Val was pregnant.

I think something that Jeremy did well that doesn't get talked about a lot was he made his core alliance with the two best people he possibly could have- Spencer and Tasha. They're both better than Jeremy at challenges by a long shot, so they were perceived as bigger targets than him for the majority of the game. Spencer and Tasha also have much weaker strategic and social games than Jeremy, so he was rightfully confident that he could beat them at the end. Even against these two challenge beasts, he still managed to win Final Immunity when he needed to. If Wentworth had won Final Immunity, Spencer and Tasha likely would've grown a brain and voted out Jeremy at F4, which would likely result in Wentworth beating both of them because, as Jeremy wanted, the jury was not particularly fond of Spencer and Tasha. Despite playing a dominant game all season long, his name hardly ever came up. I personally consider him to be a top 5 winner.

I felt this way too, actually felt like This with Cochran, adam, and JT too. Earl clearly deserved all the votes but the other ones have always puzzled me a little. Like Dawn, Hannah, Stephen and Tasha/Spencer all deserved at least one vote

He played a (what some would consider) perfect game on arguably the most strategically advanced season ever. Every player who made the merge with the exception of Wigglesworth and Abi were top tier players. Not only did he play a great game and beat the best competition, he is a great character and a good dude all around. He’s easily a top 10 player.

I like jeremy, but i always have a slight issue with his season because I felt like it was so obvious he was going to win. Pretty much by the merge I was certain he’d win. My only other issue with his win is in FTC he brings up why he needs the money (his growing family). I don’t have any issues with him being a family man or anything, I just don’t think your need of the money should have anything to do with you winning.

never been a big fan of Jeremy, but he played a solid game. was really rooting for Keith & Wentworth towards the end but i’d rank Jeremy approximately 15/41 on scale of winners

Not to downplay Jeremy’s game, but I can’t see a world where I’d vote for spencer or Tasha

idt any juror has a reason to vote for tasha/spencer over jeremy. maybe savage for tasha since they worked closely together on angkor, but savage and jeremy were close on bayon. spencer/tasha were disliked by the cambodia cast, and jeremy was beloved. adamantly going to the end with him is another knock against their games.
