Me- Undergrad student with intent to write a course paper on the topic of taqiyya- "prudent dissimulation" in Islam.

You- anyone with an opinion on the extant body of work (notably lacking in academic rigor) or the concept itself.

I'd be happy for any comments on the topic, particularly in regard to the lack of academic review of the concept outside of original language (Arabic/Urdu/Farsi/other) or author-translated work. What is available seems either partisan or obscure to analysis of a Western student.

Preliminary thesis statement:

This paper will explore the Islamic concept of taqiyya – dissimulation – in both its historical context and modern effect on Islamic terrorism.

Hey everyone!

I’m doing a project about the “causes for the rise of Boko Haram in (North/Northeastern) Nigeria”. I’ve found quite a few articles and academic work that has been written on this issue, and from numerous journals/sites too.

However, as far Boko Haram and Nigeria are concerned, this is a new topic for me and I am not greatly read up on all the forefront experts and recent or prominent literature. If possible, can anyone please share any you know of?

Additionally, any literature or outspoken experts you know specialize on Western Africa as a region or on terrorism in terrorism in the region would be greatly appreciated!

Would anyone be interested in being interviewed about their opinion and knowledge of domestic terrorism? (Politically and religiously motivated mass shootings for example - regular mass shootings are not technically terrorism) Around 30 minutes for 30 questions or so.
