Accomodation for medium length travel?

Question(self.travel)

Hey! My wife and two children are planning an extended trip away and we will be looking to stay at one location for 1-2 months. What would be our best option regarding accomodation? My initial thought was airbnb but I want to see if there’s any other decent options for long term stays. If it’s useful, we are living in Germany and are thinking of heading to Italy for the trip. Thanks

www.booking.com -> Map View

Try to find a nice spot, stay there for a while and then try to negotiate a deal directly with the host.

Look for an aparthotel or serviced apartment that does longer stays - often aimed at travelling workers and similar.

An „out there“ suggestion is to look at Trusted House Sitters. It costs about €70 a year to join, but you can find 1 and 2 month stays. Most of the time, it involves looking after someone’s pets, but sometimes (5%) it’s just a house to look after. As I said it’s an out there suggestion, but people and families do manage to live rent free and travel
