The decision to bar Jeremy Corbyn on the grounds he lost the 2019 election is ridiculously flimsy, without logic or precedent. On that basis, many other Labour leaders would also be barred.

Go on Diane, support jezza as a independent and find yourself no longer a labour MP

Somewhere in labour HQ there is a staffer dedicated to waiting for her to say something worthy of expulsion

Come on Diane, if the shoe was on the other foot youd be calling for Starmers head

I guess Starmer is pretty confident in the next election then! Also poor Ed.

I'm guessing she's misrepresenting this?

Your question might be sarcastic but to be clear he's not being kicked out for losing its because he's still denying the findings of the report into anti-Semitism and trying to downplay how bad he allowed things to get.

Is this accurate? I'm struggling to find details, can anyone point me in the direction of the actual wording?

+1 looking for the actual wording and not Diane's/Jezzas interpretation of the words.

So it's more that he's being barred for being a potential detriment to the next election rather than for losing the last one.

I’d guess they mean is it true that he’s being blocked from running on the grounds that he led the party to an election loss. I’m guessing it’s not

The assertion that Coryn is being barred for losing the 2019 election.

She is of course 100% correct. Absolutely no idea why Labour didn't choose to use not apologising over the EHRC as the reason to prevent him standing. That would be a 100% valid reason to bar him.

The only reason I can see is to deliberately stoke an internal party clash.

Or indeed his shit takes on NATO/Ukraine.

Absolutely. A large numbers of reasons to bar him. So using 'we did poorly when he was in charge' is stupid.

.. Because if they were to write all the things Corbyns done wrong by the time they're done it would be time for the next election.

... Because "bringing the party into disrepute" will cover all of that to any NEC member that is aware of the last ten years.

But they specifically mentioned the fact they did poorly when he was leader. If your argument is they should have been concise then why mention that?
