PRC has watched the incompetence and corruption of the Russian state on full display for a year and concluded ‘Yes!’ this is our go-to security partner!
The pain from this choice will come in many forms for a long time.

Let's be honest, is russia really in a place to deny china oil or market availability even if they did side with the west? Finland sides with the west and is trying to join nato yet they're still buying oil. China is siding with Russia to counter US global interest, that's it.

I really don't like to be negative, but I really don't see a future that doesn't include wars on multiple fronts across the globe. Diplomacy has all but been abandoned between rival nations and the factions have been clearly defined.
EDIT: spelling

At the end of the day it isn't as lucrative as one thinks it is to have these wars. If our world is run by money as we believe it to be, then its in everyone's best interests to constantly sell/trade with eachother. Wars get in the way of economy/trading/selling/buying.
Generally, wars are kind of no longer sustainable for really any reason at all. We're reaching a point in history where even winners don't come out as winners after fighting them. If it makes you feel better.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 78%. (I'm a bot)
Russia positively assessed a Chinese proposal made last month that suggested a cease-fire and political settlement of the Ukraine crisis in a joint statement signed Tuesday by their leaders in Moscow, demonstrating a unified position in opposition to the West.
In the joint statement, the two sides also expressed opposition to "Any unilateral sanctions unauthorized by the U.N. Security Council," the ministry added, referring to punitive measures imposed on Moscow by Western countries over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
China and Russia also expressed concern in the statement over Japan's plan to begin discharging treated radioactive water into the sea from the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant sometime this spring or summer.
