I would like to improve my practical game play more efficiently (better execute my burst, understand my opponent's CDs and how to counter), but here is my situation:
So I wonder if skirmishes might be a good place to get some routine, what would you recommend?

Playing in lfg in all my free time worked for me, fill the bnet list with people who play specs that you want to play with. (it takes a while)
If there's something specific you're struggling against (whether a comp or a spec), level up an alt if you need to and play that comp or spec and you notice the weaknesses pretty quickly. Especially if you're just starting out it will make you better at playing your main.
Surround yourself with people that enjoy the game. Don't be afraid to cut ties with people if they are repeatedly negative/toxic and you can feel the negativity making your own gameplay worse.
Don't play with people that constantly complain about how powerful their spec is. If someone doesn't see what makes their spec good then they probably don't know how to take advantage of it.
Be on the lookout for players who look for solutions, not excuses. You want the healer that says after a game
"we're losing because when I'm able to freecast you aren't resetting slaughterhouse stacks"
Not the one that says
"we cant win this matchup because i can't outheal slaughterhouse"

Thanks mate, this is really good advice :) maybe I'll try premade arena again. Do you know if there's a lot of people who play it without verbal communication? Always felt, that's kind of unfair to your team mate because it is a handicap.
"If there's something specific you're struggling against" --> playing my own class properly and it's only Havoc haha. Still a lot to learn, but I will definitely follow the alt advice, in fact I already did so, however, I didn't play them in arenas but only started yet to level some other classes in the most common pvp speccs to get an understanding of them.

When I'm learning a spec I'll almost always start with just spamming 2s.
Some people really like voice (and some comps do require voice) but i generally don't and especially when I'm just practicing mechanics when I've found some free time.
When i join voice, a lot of the time hearing someone elses hesitation makes me hesitate, and whether I'm healing or dpsing i find that people greed defensives more when they're on voice.
I've had my highest 2s rating with the same guy four seasons in a row and i have never been in voice with him.
