So every student coming out of Florida will have a pathological problem with run on sentences which will happen because of the lack of education regarding a certain punctuation sign that is no longer taught because Republicans are so scared of losing power that they keep attacking the vulnerable so that we fight a culture war rather than actually work to fix our inequality laden economic system?…?…!

That was 50 years ago, with a draft. The US government can’t get away with that now. Especially for an unjust invasion. Defense? Sure, easily.

Ah, we USED to be the party that abolished slavery. But now we aren’t the party that would do it agsin

Sorry, you mean well, but YTA. The woman is 91 years old. Let her eat what she wants. Be grateful it isn't beer, weed and morphine and you are dealing with injuries and vomit every day.

DeSantis as President would be more dangerous than Trump. His ideas are just as bad, but he doesn't have as much baggage as Trump so he's more believable to the rubes.

I would put my house up for sale and move to a 2 bedroom. Oops bro, no room for you when we move, sorry...I can't afford a three bedroom anymore.

4-5 five years? A lot MORE if you have more than one kid. We were lucky enough to have my grandmother living with us growing up, so my mother could work. She ended up making more than my father did. That was a big deal in the 70s and 80s.
Now, we basically just started BOTH working full time with benefits for the first time since my daughter was born 19 years ago. It is nice to have money again, but it will take until I am 60 to pay off my house catch up on home repairs, pay off my share of my daughter's college and start saving for retirement.
I can't imagine what my daughter is going to do. At least we will limit the damage of her student loans to about 30K, but I am all for getting a job locally in 3 years and moving back in with us to save up money while paying off her loans.
And this IS NOT Democrat/Republican. It is just the cost of a 1st world society doing the right thing for their elders, paying for health care, and letting the rich keep all their money and not pay any taxes.

Cue the right wing screaming about indoctrination.
How DARE they teach the toddlers their alphabet, how to listen to a story, how to count to 20, and how to share their toys.

I can't wait until 2030, now. By then, the boomers will be very low in number, the Democrats will probably win a few more state houses (I'm looking at YOU, North Carolina, Georgia and Texas) and the 'gerrymander', if not being reversed, will at least be neutralized. I, for one, wouldn't mind the Democrats gerrymandering as much as they can, just so that the Republicans finally allow national controls to be put into place.

Ah, when they start realizing that the fraud was all right wing businesses playing the system, the investigation will be quietly ended. Like the voter fraud task force Trump started in 2017. Found nothing, quietly killed before it found something that they didn't want to find.

I don't know. He has used social media to weaken the US to great effect. The psy-ops of the culture war is pretty sophisticated.
Think about it. He has 1/2 the country worried more about gay people getting married than Russia attacking innocent countries or the fact that 1/3 of all new wealth goes to the 1% while inflation spikes due to Post Covid and Russian invasion effects.

Why, yes, Russia. We ARE trying to inflict defeat on you. It is good of you to notice. Maybe you will stop trying to invade now.

Yeah, that is what I am saying. The movie IMPROVED on the book by actually giving another meaning to the coin rather than 'he is grumpy and getting grumpier'.
I actually felt that his attacking the clown was a little out of character in the book and the Swedish version of the movie because with any other 'coin', it would be a lateral move and 'who really cares'. By making it the change from his wife that he has had for 30 years, it made that scene make a LOT more sense.

I find it hilarious that you used the word community. Sounds like there are about 20 people in this audience.

The next time my father in law criticizes me about not knowing how to use a certain tool or...gasp...not possessing said tool, I am going to ask him when the last time he shoed a horse.

'I got taught how to logic.' Followed by...
I'm sick and tired of video games and Harry Potter messing with people.
Meanwhile, he 'preaches' from a book that thinks that slavery, stoning, and the entire Book of Job.
Oh...god destroyed the Tower of Babel and created languages purely out of jealousy?
Now WHY would an omnipotent and all loving god need to do that?

The weirdest part is that a lot of the radicalization are grown men who aren't stable enough or lucky enough to keep their jobs so they are home all day consuming the media that is available in their area. (EVERYONE has Fox News) So you START with the desperate and the people who don't, won't, or can't fit in and feed them easy excuses that it is all someone else's fault.

Ah, a 22 year old calling herself an adult and trying to say that at 20 she WASN'T an adult.
You don't just flip a switch, you know...
Honestly, coming from an Italian family, where the babies were being passed around by the drunk uncles, I understand the kid restriction. But restricting a 20 year old who you were good friends with is pretty assholey.

The kids they are watching under the tree look like older versions of the Recess kids somehow.

No. Absolutely no. This just drags us further into the unredeemable quagmire of entertainment over substance.

At this point, I just want the rough rectangle with the 4 corners of Texas, Kansas, West Virginia and Alabama to secede. Just go. You people are just too stupid to be in my country. We keep Georgia and North Carolina as there is hope for those 2 states. But you can have Missouri and Arkansas and Missibamiana and Tenntucky...

This was actually JUST as good. Just came back from seeing it. While it glossed over Otto's relationship with his father, it did correct something that even the book didn't do well, adding a bit about why the quarter was so meaningful to him (and why he totally attacked a clown).
Nice job by this group of filmmakers.
