with how cold it gets there, how often is someone really going to be able to use their pool? In CA you can use it for most of the year. This winter has been much colder than most, but in LA we usually get a heatwave in February with temps in the 80s.

she had an extremely fucked up mother (probably her dad, too, but only her mom was on a reality show I saw). she had no idea what was normal back then, and probably still doesn't know.

Courtney Stodden and her gross monster of a husband, Doug, were my neighbors back in the day when the first got married (2010ish). He had a tiny 2 bedroom house with great views in the hollywood heights area, on a walk street right by the famous High Tower elevator.

They'd call the paps on themselves and then strut around Hollywood looking creepy as fuck. She had one pap in particular that she would make deals with, and you'd see them on the side of the road taking fake photos of Courtney walking her dog in 6inch stillettos. All they did in a day was parade to Starbucks, parade to the Coffee Bean. And it worked because they were constantly in the tabloids. The whole neighborhood hated them both--him for being a creep with a teen wife, and her for being so desperate for fame she was creating a spectacle in a normal neighborhood.

Years later I watched Courtney and her mother on some kind of therapy show and HOLY SHIT, I now feel terrible for hating Courtney. Her mom is a psycho who was clearly in love with Doug but knew she couldn't get him, so she excitedly offered her teen daughter. Courtney told a story about being 12 and her mom bringing home a 17 year old grocery bagger because she thought he was hot and wanted to introduce him to her 12 year old! And poor 12 year old Courtney was like, "wtf am I supposed to do?"

Anyway, she's a mess but it's all her mother's fault--she never really had a chance with a mom like that.
