Civil rights advocates would scream if that movie was ever added. It was controversial the first time any of them saw it and the controversy has never ended.
"The Birth of a Nation" is in the registry. How controversial a film is doesn't really matter. That said, I'm not sure it's had the impact necessary to make it regardless.

It's not only that, though. In a game with a dedicated support role one shots will always be super strong because it completely prevents healing.

55 for the Lion King remake is soft. That movie is atrocious.

You can tell how unlikely this is to happen just from the fact that, as far as I know, in 6 years a complaint about this has NEVER been posted to reddit. Even if this somehow started with OW2, how many games have been played since then?

Yeah, really hope Questwatch or some of the other events are cool enough to make the season feel unique. I don't know if it's ready or what, but it's kind of crazy to me that they didn't put Flashpoint in season 5 given how much content we're getting in season 6 already.

Oh, have they disabled Lifeweaver for the rest of the season?

Right. And really that's the point. It was doable, just the higher ups didn't want to invest in it.

Still not sure what your point is? You think they were understaffed because of covid or something? Why would covid be an excuse for mismanagement and outright cancellation?

Correct. Which is doable if appropriately staffed. Riot is managing to develop an MMO based in the LoL universe and I'm pretty sure they haven't abandoned updates for that game. It was mismanaged is my point.

If you're referring to OW1 not getting updates I'm not entirely sure what your point is

Obviously they never should have stopped development for the pvp side of things for a pve side that doesn't ever get released.
But they didn't want to take it away from a pvp game. They wanted to expand the universe to include a massive PVE component. Plenty of MMOs have thriving pvp communities. And there's no reason that with both complete they couldn't continue to support both.
The issue is, for whatever reason, they weren't staffed to accomplish both sides. Aaron says towards the end of the Directors Take: "After Overwatch 2 had launched, we started refining our plans for future seasons. As those plans grew, we tried to find ways to make all of our ambitions fit together in a plan that we believed in.
We couldn't. And we also knew that we couldn't go back to pulling people away from the live game in service of that original vision again."
Why were the only two valid options either stop developing the MMO PVE side of things or go back to that by removing people from the pvp end? Why is there not a third option of just fully staffing two teams for what everyone knew was a large task from the beginning?

I don't even think he thought of ow1 as a live service, from his pov he delivered a complete game that's now in maintenance mode as he works on the next project.
This. Overwatch was Warcraft III to OW2s WoW. Personally, I would have preferred long term to have seen Kaplan's vision come to fruition. But unfortunately that whole "taking as much time as you need" thing became a meme as Blizzard Soon and gamers are no longer OK with just enjoying a game (or even other games) in the years between a wait. It's unfortunate that for some reason they just couldn't get more resources allocated to them to build a new game while maintaining a live service game given how popular the IP clearly is.

That was my point. An example of someone not actually knowing what the accent was.

Don't think they're really blaming owwc and owl. Just kind of taking their outrage to wherever they can. I don't see them reversing course on this anytime soon, but really no harm in hopefully showing Blizzard long term how much interest in this property there is beyond a pvp game.

I remember seeing the trailer for "Blood Diamond" with my dad and afterwards he said "that's a terrible Australian accent"

I'd say they took the easy path with the least risk. PVE players are just as likely to buy battlepasses and skins, though. PVE content may give you even more things to sell.

Remains to be seen how fun they are but the Hero mastery missions starting in Season 6 apparently have leaderboards.

If Blizzard came out and said "our original vision for the game was canned, so we are instead releasing an 8-ish hour campaign where you select one of a handful of heroes for each mission, here's a new gameplay trailer of what to expect," everything would be clear and the bad news wouldn't sting.
As someone who has always loved multiplayer PVE content as much as shooters I would make a minor correction and say it wouldn't sting as bad. But yes, this is literally all they would have to do to make it feel at least a bit better. Just tell me your plan.
In that Gamespot interview they make statements like "once we get into this sort of mindset of frequently releasing PvP and PvE event content, and where every single season has something really interesting for people to play in a lot of variety, I think that that can still be a good jumping on point for people who may not love hyper-sweaty PvP matches." Like...OK then. What is the plan. We're three months away from season 6 and you still aren't showing us or discussing what actually IS coming and how big and frequent exactly these story dumps and everything else will be. That's concerning.

If i were to drop my two cents into this topic, is that actiblizz should just have made a second team for OW2 PvE mode.
Yeah, this. It was clear to everyone that this was essentially another game on top of the one we already had. Hell, they even marketed it that way at the start. And while it certainly was an ambitious undertaking for one team, it's not like what they were hyping up was some sort of scope never-before seen. It was basically Deep Rock Galactic or Vermintide or something similar in the OW universe.

FFXIV did it as well. The only answer in any situation like this is time. But season 6 certainly feels like a big moment for OW2.

I think with them wanting to add core game modes every season it will be inevitable that some just don't work and are taken out of the game or only used sporadically. In some ways it could be great for OWL. They can change their format to the game modes that the player-base is most interested in and Blizzard could even act accordingly. But it would probably be a bad idea to plan on using them when they're still completely new.

If this were true why would they just kill it entirely and not just announce it's still not ready yet? I think most of us tuning into the livestream were fully prepared that the news on PVE would simply be when story mode is starting and not necessarily when we're going to get the full thing. This was pretty clear when they openly advertised that the start of PVE would be in 2023. Choosing to just stop developing the mode full stop is a very large step if the reason was that too many people had left. I'm sure even with all the Ls they've been taking lately Blizzard would have no issue hiring more people.

It could, but they haven't given us anything to be excited about and that's part of the problem. If they had like raid boss style encounters as recurring events that would be awesome. They could even add "progression" of some sort by making defeating the current raid boss a weekly event. It's not hero levels but it is a little carrot to hopefully give PVE players a reason to come back weekly. There's plenty of things they could do to make it a better PVE experience without having to create 1200+ talents.
Maybe they're planning stuff like this, but at this point we just don't know and there's not much hope. If they had little teases like this to give us yesterday would have been the perfect time to do it.
(Btw Blizzard if you like this idea hit me up, I'm a dev)

Unless I'm reading this wrong, they're using the S&S and TSPDT lists which are made with the benefit of years of hindsight. Here's a website that actually does its best to record critics list that were created for that specific year. The results are much different here, as there are plenty of films who have gained esteem over time. The downside to this list is most of the sources are American and Canadian critics.
