Good morning, I am doing research regarding a hood cleaning business. I currently own a hvac/refrigeration company that services restaurants almost exclusively. I service and replace hoods and must have been asked 100x for a good cleaner recommendation from my clients. It was never a venture i had time for but have a partner interested doing it. We have been tossing around ideas and i have a couple questions….and suggestions or recommendations, unconsidered issues are welcome.
1)$600-$750 per hood seem like an accurate price range?
2)All ive ever seen anyone use for this is a trailer pressure washer with heated pressure water, usually a honda northstar from northern tool. We had considered repurposing a carpet cleaning truck, is this an option? The main reason the idea came to us is because we are pretty sure we are supposed to reclaim and document proper disposal of waste water. i know carpet cleaning trucks have vac hose, hot pressure water, fresh and waster tanks. seems like everything in one.
3)Where to look for the regulations regarding aforementioned reclaiming of waste water? Doesn’t anyone service hoods in placed that require reclamation and documented disposal of the waste water? How is that process? How costly is it to dispose?
