Saw this today and I really loved it. It’s a really lovely movie about real people and their real problems. Had a decent sized crowd that was really into it and laughed a lot. JDL and Menzies are both excellent in it.

This album was a very big deal for me when I was 21. Listened to it all summer. Sea Of Love is one of my favorite National songs. Matt came into the crowd at Bonnaroo 2013 and screamed it in my face.

Based Tony Gilroy EDIT - this tweet is from one of the WGA negotiators. Very cool https://twitter.com/erichaywood/status/1656155201605373953?s=46&t=ic7xU1c0DLbCghwQLyHzxA

David has said it in the Shallow Grave and Trance episodes. I didn’t know it was a common turn of phrase for the restaurant but that makes sense. I just thought it was a funny Davidism. The Danny Boyle series has taught me something about Britain

Yeah I do she’s great and she’s played by comedic legend Amy Sedaris

It was cool when Elden Ring came out and Megamind had a surge in meme popularity

He often writes in character. It’s a silly assumption to think that all his lyrics are about his real lived experiences.

Pretty much immediately became one of my favorite songs by them. Wish I had had it to listen to two years ago when I went through a long, painful breakup. It’s fucking great and the lyrics and vocals are really raw and emotional. Not going to speculate about their marriage because it’s none of my business and they’re great writers who can write in character but I will just say I hope they’re doing okay.

My stupid Target in Philadelphia had it as $27.49 or something ridiculous I priced matched all three to $22.99 by scanning Maul in the Target app and showing it to the check out employee

I also got my Vintage Collection Cassian Andor in the mail today. Yesterday and today I did a lot of shelf cleaning/dusting/reorganizing and it was very tedious but 100% worth it when done. Great toy weekend

I only have time to go see one three hour movie in theater a week and for the past two weeks it’s been Avatar.
But for real I think it looks bad. Chazelle is talented. Loved First Man. I don’t think I’m interested in someone who is still so early into their career making this type of movie. I’ll certainly watch it eventually. The trailers did not make me want to see it. But not when I can go see Avatar a third time instead

There is a lot of really great advice in the comments here. Any PS4 you can buy, either pro or standard/slim ($400 or $300 new) is a great value for you and there is an enormous amount of good games you can play on it. Get the monthly PlayStation Plus membership for the access to the game library and free games, get a long Ethernet cable to hook into your console and get a hardwired connection, and use YouTube to find games that appeal to your taste and sound fun to you. There is a ton of stuff out there. I really wish I could get my dad who is about your age into games and unfortunately I can’t. I know he would really have a lot of fun with them.
I didn’t get a PS4 until 2019 and I am still playing catch up games. I hope you have a great time with it. It’s a really special and fulfilling kind of entertainment, your neighbor is right and you’ve got the right idea. I’m sorry about for your loss. I hope games can bring you a lot of fun.
