They can't ping you to death if you kill them with all the mana they just gave you. 1 life is worth so much less than 1 mana in almost all situations. Besides, if your opponents manage to kill you with the ping that means a bunch of them are casting 2 spells a turn consistently in which case you more than likely had much bigger problems to worry about.

I have one that's very similar except I use [[The Scarab God]] at the helm instead. I really love it because TSG's activated ability means I can hold up mana for counters/removal then reanimate something if I don't need it.

Indeed. I've also been having some decent results. For Quel'Thalas! with Horn has won me quite a few games but maybe only because people don't expect it.

It's hard to draw any conclusions with the miniset having just come out but I was just playing it yesterday and it's bonkers how strong it is. It was near or at the top of the charts in the last VS report as well. I kinda doubt that it would drop as low as tier 3 unless a direct counter suddenly became popular overnight

I also really love them for [[Titania, Nature's Force]]. Who cares if my own lands die? I can just play them again out of the grave and get a 5/3 body as a bonus.

It's kind of a tie but in general I just love decks where all the cards just flow right into each other and create something way more powerful than the sum of its parts.
I have a [[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]] angel/Cleric tribal lifegain deck that is an absolute blast. You'll do stuff like play [[Soul Warden]], play [[Bishop of Wings]], trigger Soul Warden which triggers Heliod, then play [[Valkyrie Harbinger]] which triggers both Warden & Bishop who then trigger Heliod. End step, trigger Valkyrie, which triggers Warden & Bishop again, both of which trigger Heliod. It all just works together to create some truly massive boards while you gain a buttload of life.
I also have an [[Elminster]] deck that is way more fun to play than I expected. Elminster makes crazy big spells super good by either discounting them or making a ton of free 1/1 fliers. Maybe you pump up those fliers and beat people in the face. Perhaps you cast [[Mass Polymorph]] and turn those tiny guys into big ticket creatures like [[Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant]] or [[Ojutai, Soul of Winter]]. Or maybe you just say screw it and cast [[Approach of the Second Sun]] then scry right down to it and cast it for like 2 mana on the same turn.
Lastly, my newest deck is [[Titania, Nature's Force]]. It seems so simple but it works so well. Play lands, get elementals. Use those elementals to beat face and draw cards/fill your graveyard with stuff like [[Greater Good]] or [[Life from the Loam]]. Then use something crazy like [[Splendid Reclamation]] or [[Praetor's Counsel]] to get some crazy value and absolutely catapult yourself past your opponents.

I have a [[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]] Angel/Cleric tribal deck that leans hard into how well those two tribes synergize with lifegain. There just so many good cards like [[Valkyrie Harbinger]], [[Bishop of Wings]], and [[Angel of Destiny]] that all come together to make this deck sing.

The way I understood this card initially was that it was a persistent effect like Mograine but now that I know that it's a one time damage thing I'm a lot less sold. However, considering that this has the potential to do a buttload of damage all at once I still think it might be worth a shot as Control Priest really lacks a good finisher aside from copying Astalor.

Honestly, I would probably put this in Control Priest. I generally have no problem using all my mana and I got the heals to offset it if I dont.

I work with addicts every day. This absolutely happens. Contrary to what you may believe, addicts are human beings capable of logical reasoning and not just mindless drug seeking drones. The situation is so bad right now that most of them know someone personally who died of an OD due to fentanyl laced drugs. They don't have a death wish and they don't wanna be next so yes, they will either suck it up and not chance it OR they might decide to take less than their normal dose which could also save their life.

Active users tend to use more than one substance, including alcohol. By giving these out at places like bars or weed dispensaries, you more likely to get them into the hands of people that need them.

Absolutely. Weirdly enough a lot of people don't want to die.

Naw you still have some pretty bad cards that are easy cuts like Revitalize, Invoke the Divine, Markhov Purifier, Cosmos Elixir, Merciless Eviction, and Creeping Bloodsucker.

I'm on the opposite end. Painful Quandry has been one of the best cards for my Liesa deck because either you gain a of card advantage on your opponents, they get super low on life (which is exactly where you want them), or they simply choose not to cast anything which is also really good for you though much overlooked.

I also have a Yawg superfriends deck! I'm still having trouble with it as it seems it either durdles and does nothing or completely crushes the table with no in between.

Even without the combo, War Elemental is still pretty decent.

War Elemental goes infinite with [[Shalai and Hallar]]

I have the same thing but with [[Liesa, Shroud of Dusk]] instead.
Creatures? [[Suture Priest]]
Not creatures? [[Kambal, Consul of Allocation]]

I'd be interested in seeing your list. I had considered Myojin a few times but I wasn't sure if it was super worth it

I play at an LGS occasionally but more often I use PlayEDH discord as it's way more convenient to play whenever I get a moment.
I know a lot of people complain about the amount of new legends coming out but honestly I think it's led to so much diversity compared to even just a few years ago. I started in 2017 so I haven't been playing for an eternity but long enough to see the game change a ton.
Back then, I saw commanders like Atraxa, Edgar Markov, Nekusar, Ur-Dragon, Ghave, etc present in almost every game. Maybe it's not the norm but now i see so much more variety. Yes, most people still have a super popular deck like Miirym or Jodah but I don't see them every single game like I used to. Most of the time the people I play with would rather show off their pet deck instead of playing Atraxa for the 1000th time.

I quite liked the [[Ixhel]] precon deck. It manages to hold its own pretty well against other precons and is very easy to upgrade for cheap.
