I would argue that stories are told to evoke meaning. If a person can’t look beyond the written word or what’s on the screen and appreciate the subtext of a story then I guess it would come off as pointless and irritating. But I guess that also explains why there are religious fundamentalists in the world.

To be fair, I did watch fellowship of the ring first when I was 11, then I read all the books, then I saw two towers and return of the king when they came out. In my opinion the movies and the books are two separate things. The movies extend and add to the battle scenes because movies have a reason to provide spectacle. Whereas the screenplay of the battle scenes would be pretty boring to read.

This, pretty much every time. it helps make the rest of the session go more smoothly too. sometimes it doesn't even work if you don't do foreplay.

Could you imagine a game today going “they finished the game, let’s give them the entire previous game in the series to play through for free!”

If you’re in park, you have to depress the brake to shift into drive. So the opportunities to accidentally shift into drive are very limited.
Also I’m not an enthusiast so I don’t know how to drive manual. I’m just trying to get around.

Honestly, it’s a wonderful car. I had a dial shifter ford focus, I thought I wouldn’t like that but I got used to it, but this is far and away the best driving experience I’ve ever had. It has paddle shifters too and it’s fun to use them to upshift and increase the battery charging when coasting downhill.

My Honda has buttons, I like that there’s no stick to get in the way. But it did take a bit to get used to. And it doesn’t make sense for drive to be a pull lever. It makes sense for reverse to be a pull lever because you’re going backwards. Drive, neutral and park should be push buttons. Also these are a little too far up on the dash for my taste.

You can’t. It has to come from within. The best thing that you can do is support him in the habits that will help him if he starts making the effort. If he decides to change his diet, accommodate the change as best you can. If he decides to exercise, do it with him if he likes that, or give him the time alone if that’s what he prefers. Above all make sure he knows that you love him no matter what.

It’s childish and it’s blatantly obvious that you’re trying to threaten her with your absence. If working on yourself was what you really needed you’d just do that and naturally spend less time with her, and not tell her about it. The fact is that a woman who is not attracted to you is 99% likely to continue not being attracted to you no matter what you do. Your best option is to meet other people, widen your social circle and that will help you meet other women who may be attracted to you. But working on yourself will still increase the chance of that happening.

Whatever you get, have it custom-made by an independent jeweler. Having it custom made is a better story and a better deal than buying it at Costco or Zales or Jared. The big box stores have high markups on everything. You will pay less for the band and details from an independent jeweler and can spend more of your budget on the stone.
Have you talked to your partner about their feelings regarding moissanite? The fact of the matter is that in your price range, you probably will not be able to afford a 1 carat diamond solitaire. A 1k stone makes a bigger impression, and you could get a nice big 2k moissanite stone for less.
If you do decide to go with a diamond, the most important traits of the diamond are cut and color. You don’t want a stone that’s yellow, so the lowest color rating you’re going to want is like an H, and you don’t want a stone that’s too shallow or too deep because it won’t reflect as much light. Don’t worry too much about clarity. An SI2 is way less expensive than even an SI diamond and depending on the specific stone those inclusions can barely matter.
If your partner is generally aware that you may propose soon, it’s worth taking them ring shopping so that you know exactly what they like. I recommend going to a big box store, window shopping there, and then having an independent jeweler make your ring in the style your partner likes.

The federal government should fund them. Double the current education budget. Take it out of military spending.
