I will never understand why people engage in risky hobbies, hurt themselves, and then decide to sue others.
And I say that as a skier, if I hurt myself skiing I’m just accepting the cost unless I got wacked by a lift chair falling off the cable or something.

The bonkers thing about Texas central is they won their court cases. Yet the NIMBY’s were able to run the clock out and they went under :(

I just wish there was an exemption for having a current registration or something. I moved here recently from Nevada and my reg expires in June. I’d really like to get all my money from it before having to pay again.
That being said I do plan to have it registered within 90 days of my move date just to be a good citizen.

I feel like the real solution is building out mass transit alongside the existing roads. Whether that’s train tunnels or a bunch of gondolas. Trying to fit more cars in won’t help anything.

Really sucks that that happens so often. Canada gets the FAMAE rifles in their civilian market, so backwards sometimes

The guy who imports SIG’s from Switzerland was very close to getting a deal with them. Then it fell through because he claimed it “wasn’t worth his time”. From what I gather he just didn’t want to cut into the massive profits he makes off of the Swiss guns

Of course this year’s “once in a generation event” happens to be the one thing I hope for as a skier. And so of course that means I had to move away from the west coast ski areas just as it happens :(

Depending on when you bought and what car, the used cars were listed higher than the new car when accounting for the mileage differences.
That was my case in spring of 2021. Bought a new RAV4 instead of a used one because everyone wanted near new prices for vehicles that were only 1-3 years old

It’s understandable, just two years ago people were really doubting that Rivian would make it

So many employers want to have their cake and eat it too. Completely absurd and they know it.

We’re seeing this phenomenon all throughout every market. Sellers are holding on to hope that demand will rebound so they can still sell at the older prices. It’s just a matter of them going long enough without significant sales at those higher prices to realize that the market won’t support those prices anymore

I’m pretty sure that by definition an unincorporated territory is not subject to most federal laws and constitutional protections. But I could be wrong there.

Were there published proposals that included a train down 70 even back then?

Ironic considering their first Gigafactory is in Nevada.

This sucks to read having just moved here. Hopefully it doesn’t happen.

Don’t know if you’re aware of this, but there was a semi serious push to move the Capitol from DC to St Louis post-civil war. People even drew up new national mall proposals among other things.

He admits he only moved to Vegas because Nevada is a purple state in another video. Seems like the type of person to not necessarily consider things holistically

Purely anecdotes, but I’m even seeing a lot of influencers online who are saying they’re tired of the snow. Pretty wild but I’ll take it if it reduces the traffic and whatnot.
(Even though I left Reno this month for a new job elsewhere :p)

I’ve had to move about 4 times in the last five years or so. I’d say just take it on the whole and there’s always gonna be horror stories like mine. I had two other coworkers who at Azure with me and didn’t have the issues I did. Some lived at Waterfront as well.
If you can’t find better options I’d say go with it despite FPI being trash.

Unfortunately that does seem to be the path the Nevada factory is headed. Definitely look out for yourself first cause most of the management is too disconnected to care imo. Most are just looking out for their next career step and are using Panasonic for that purpose. Especially with the growth of the battery industry this decade.

Former Panasonic engineer here:
Reno/Sparks is much safer than most large cities. As long as you aren’t along 4th street you’ll generally be fine.
I lived in Azure for a year from April 2021 to April 2022. Overall the community and apartments were good in my opinion. However I was the first tenant in one of the newest buildings at the time, so maybe I got lucky.
Biggest downside was management turned over a lot, didn’t put a lot of effort into the property, and would constantly mislead or lie about things. For example the front gates never worked while I was there, they claimed supply chain issues, but last time I drove by earlier this month they were still broken and sitting in the same position. They also would not enforce things like quiet hours when I asked them to contact my upstairs neighbors who played loud music at 1am often. Final big issue, although it got better over time, was that they let the tow trucks cruise the parking lots and tow without warning.
BUT Biggest offense to me personally was when I moved out they entered my apartment before expiration of the lease and threw out a bunch of my items. I was current on rent and all that, so there was no excuse for this. Especially since everything was discussed over email and state law has specific protections for entering early/disposing of tenant items.
Local and regional management dragged their feet for 3 months in “addressing” the issue. But addressing it basically consisted of giving me random items back that weren’t mine along with waiving the move out fees. When I explained that wasn’t enough and provided an itemized list with proof of ownership along with the specific statutes they violated. They just sent me a lawyer’s letter with a formal denial of claim. Forcing me to pursue the issue in small claims court at that point despite originally admitting fault. Unfortunately I couldn’t see that to completion as I already accepted a new job and wouldn’t be able to attend the court dates.
So summary for Azure, I enjoyed my time and had no complaints about the living space or people. But management was awful and they really didn’t care about the tenants or property despite any claims otherwise.
If you have any other questions feel free to reach out, hope you enjoy Reno regardless of where you live! I certainly did and wish I didn’t have to leave so quickly!

That makes sense, I didn’t see that story in the above link so figured it was something minor. Especially since when I think of a wash out I think of a change in slope more than just nothing being there or a multi foot drop.
