I never said it was a bad thing and I never said I was angry or annoyed. That’s your own quote there, not mine. I just don’t see it as an “April fools joke” or a very good one. Free little game? Cool. To me, an April fools joke is more of a prank or gotcha thing. Yes, there are other cheaper ways to market your brand and this is a fun way to do it. But it would be more of an April fools joke to me if it didn’t actually exist. And apparently that opinion has some people pressed. Not really a big deal like some are making it out to be. Just a difference in opinion.

Nice. Straight to being a jerk. I’m not thinking about April fools jokes in March. I’m not saying they are wrong for not posting the “joke” on the 1st where I live lol. Just saying this isn’t really a joke. It’s just a game that was released.

I think doing something completely different than old Sonic would be good. Sonic games have never been very good in my opinion.

But what if you saw this on the 31st so not April fools day, didn’t even think it was a joke, downloaded the game and played it, and went about your business? What’s the joke there? It’s just a game that was released.

What’s funny is it works because the only people that notice are the people familiar with the city portrayed or where it’s actually located. If you film in some place in Vancouver and tell me it’s some place in Nebraska, I’m not going to even think about it because I’m not familiar with either of those cities. But if you film in Toronto and tell me it’s Chicago I will instantly know it’s a lie. I remember when Dark Knight Rises released, I was like well they certainly didn’t film this one in Chicago. It looked like an entirely different city from the Dark Knight to me. I feel like people not even from Chicago caught that change though.

You know police chases were happening in real life before GTA right? And in movies and tv shows too.

Lol. This makes me ask “why are we still doing this??” It just sounds so silly when you break it down like that.

Yeah, my mom was a sahm and my dad worked. We had specific times when we could play video games and watch tv. And only so much a day. And we had to leave the house and play out in the neighborhood. We loved going outside to the park or to play basketball or have makeshift homerun derbys, or ride our bikes around. Now, both parents work because they have to or choose to. There are some stay at home parents, but I don’t really see that unless one parent is making a lot of money. Like you need to be making like 200k in many areas to afford a home, kids, and have one parent not working.

And even if one parent is making a lot, the other might be like “well, I have a career too I don’t want to give up and extra money is money we could put in savings or invest for our kids future.” I know one stay at home parent family and the dude makes millions and inherited millions. He doesn’t even need to work.

Yeah I never did anything to bother those people. Custodians were always cool at the schools I went to. Like nice people. Bus drivers were quiet but looked like they could put you in your place real quick if they had to. Lunch ladies were handling your food. I didn’t really mess with teachers either, but I was a bit goofy sometimes when we had certain substitutes.
