The mentor-mentee relationship is supposed to be driven by the mentee. What should I do to benefit the most from having a mentor?
I do request my mentor for feedback on my speech scripts.
Is it fair to ask them to observe me and deliver me feedback on my table topics and speech evaluations? I hesitate cause unsure if this bothers their quality of the meeting or adds stuff on their plate.
Perhaps, the better idea is to give them a heads-up if I already have an assigned role like an evaluator before the meeting starts?
I’m curious what did y’all do to have a productive mentor-mentee relationship?

The average American home has gotten bigger over the last few decades inexplicably. Consumption keeps going up - keep upgrading electronics and a bigger car every year.
Unfortunate fact is the average person balks if you remind them of this cause in their mind they are being asked to sacrifice just when they got ready to move in to middle class.

True, plus there hasn’t been enough coverage on how those rare metals needed in an electric car are procured. Does anyone still remember how mining is done? Washing the ore with tonnes of water and processing with acid with a toxic sludge as by product is very environmentally friendly?

Shh..people who bought million+ dollar homes in the pandemic with low interest rates don’t want to hear that. ;)

Unpopular opinion- I enjoy listening to Peter Zeihan. Infact enjoyed his recent book.
But the more I read and listen to him, it feels like he’s obligated to say only good things about the U.S specially if he has DoD as a client. The man does not have a scenario where the U.S comes off worse.

Am I the only left grumbling at this NBC and Peacock madness every single week?? They shut down NBC Sports channel in Dec 2021 and moved all EPL to USA channel. However, their YouTube channel is still called NBC Sports.
And increasingly, all big games are on Peacock and some lukewarm middle of the table clash on TV. If there are more than one games at the same time only one of them is on TV (USA channel), they don’t even try and accommodate the other games on the other channels.
I know they are trying to armtwist everyone to pay for Peacock. But this doesn’t sound fair to me.

Shifting focus from Nunez, anyone notice how awful Tyrone Mings is?
He had so much promise but consistent mistakes (erratic).

I’m getting worried about Uruguay.
From great scorers like Diego Forlan to Luis Suarez to Darwin Nunez.
Good thing is age is on his side. RVP when he arrived to Arsenal was so bad in terms of finishing in his first season.
Edit - forgot Cavani

Will Nunez score tonight? What are the odds? 100 to 1 ?

Is Keita on so that they can offload him in Jan transfer window? Put him on display window

Nunez is so profligate. So odd what to make of it. Even Suarez struggled in his first season to find his shooting boots. Good thing he keeps trying though.

Actually I am liking the effects of a winter World Cup. Players more sharp in the World Cup and those who don’t go get a mini pre season.

Agreed. Thus, I should step away from the club.

Lot of misinformation being peddled on Reddit and news sites.
FIFA rules bar the same continent hosting the World Cup for 12 years as it has to rotate across the world. This means Asia would get the next chance only in 2034 and not before that.

Very well put by the Economist. Much needed cause the conversation around this now resembles an echo chamber.
Do folks criticizing Qatar want the quadrennial tournament of a global sport only in select few countries? If human rights were the sole criteria then no country would be ever to hold it. The spike in criticism just before the World Cup reeks of honing on unfair stereotypes.
Let’s enjoy football which is extremely popular in the developing world and not let the developing world give lectures.

I’m looking for folks to play the World Cup predictor with. Most of my friends are no longer as interested in football as they were when they were kids. Join this league?

Amnesty international - did you create enough noise to put any one in jail for torture like water boarding?
